To be fair and transparent I will let you know right now I worked here many years ago.  On the plus side, I can vouch without hesitation for their cleanliness and excellent consistency in the food and service for the last 8 years.  Rick is the primary chef, although Sue has been helping out in recent times. Along with many locals and travelers, Lemon Wolf is still my favorite place to eat in Beaver Bay for a special occasion or when we have out of town visitors.  Lemon Wolf is a cozy small locally owned and operated restaurant. The menu is a good size and features tasty handcrafted meals that include home-style comfort foods like the open hot turkey sandwich; vegetarian options like the lighthouse salad and healthy options like the fresh herring or lake trout.  The pie is delicious no matter what flavor Sue makes. Best for smaller groups and candlelight dinners.  Family friendly, It's really fun when children have finished and howl like a wolf for their special treats.  Allow some time to fully enjoy your meal, this is not a place to rush away from.

The food was very good, and the server was wrong, we didn't have to wait long at all! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, and the menu was very good. I forgot to take a pick, but the plates were very nice! Good food and good service!

A real gem of a place. Quiet, intimate, and welcoming ambiance. Phenomenal staff -- friendly, attentive, and engaging. And the food! Some of the best, fresh food in northern MN. And then there is the view, too!  Don't be afraid of this sleepy little town -- come for a visit and plan to eat at the Lemon Wolf Cafe. We will be back, again and again.

Yummy, fresh food, courteous staff and nice ambiance. We had the 'daily catch' dishes and wild rice soup... and they were delicious!

One of the best eating experiences I had in the four day honeymoon we had at the North Shore.

Had the Herring and baked potato, they offer tartar sauce but the seasoning was so superb the fish practically melts in your mouth.

For dessert we had the Wolf Trail Pie. I've never had a pecan pie so good in my life.

Great atmosphere, great prices, great service. We arrived a little before 5pm when they opened and we were one of six groups waiting.  By 6pm all of us had eaten and were paying for our meals. 

I will be honored to come back here in the future.
