I've been a patient and volunteer here and I've got to say, LMC cares. I've seen doctors, nurses, chaplains, and maintenance staff all go the extra mile to ensure patient care and help. For a huge hospital like this, I am happily surprised to see the care given to patients and appreciation for staff and volunteers alike.

Staff cared for a family member here, and kept me informed of his progress throughout. The nurses were caring and attentive. He received excellent care.

The Emergency center here is absolutely awful. Me and my sister were here 8 hours before we decided to leave. She came in to make sure her baby is ok and not trying to miscarriage. When she asked when she could be seen, the lady at the front desk was extremely rude and pretty much told her that there were people there that had been waiting longer and were more important. Saw 8 people who came in hours after us get seen before us. Absolutely ridiculous and a waste of time.

End of week Radiology Department procedure. Checked in early morning at the Outpatient Registration desk. Fast and courteous registration service. Short walk to the elevator and to the Radiology Department. Placed my name and DOB and sat down in the comfortable waiting area. Shortly thereafter, I was called to the Radiology Department help desk and was greeted by a sweet volunteer to assist me with my journey to the Radiology Department operating/procedure area. Several nurses ( 4 ) greeted me and instructed me to confirm my identity and begin to perform their respective duties. The performing doctor enter my prep room; introduced himself and explained the arterialgram procedure and answered a few of my questions. Within a few minutes, I was prepped and switched to a rolling surgical bed. Upon entry of the operating room, the nurse and surgery technicians ( 2 ) greeted me. Immediately, the nurse and technicians were engaged in continuous conversation with me and amongst themselves. I was totally ( focused ) on the preccedure at hand. Once the doctor arrived, I was given a mild sedation dose and the doctor begin the arterialgram. During the procedure, I was conscience, but not completely all there. I remember being nervous and the attending nurse articulated my vitals aloud. Apparently my BP rose. The doctor instructed the nurse to inject a drug dose to conteract my rising BP. My BP lowered. I begin to panic again my BP rose off the chart. The doctor commanded another drug dose injection; the nurse intervened and suggested to remove BP cuff from my left leg and place it on my arm. My blood pressure reading was normal. I passed out and awoke later as the doctor was barking out visual reading from one of monitors. Once the doctor completed the procedure, he command the surgery technician to apply pressure on the entry wound. The nurse and surgical technicians removed me from the operating table to a rolling bed. I was placed in my original prep room for post observation. I sleeped majority of the time while in post op; I remember the attending nurse ( male ) consistently checking on me regularly inspecting my surgical wound. I eventually awakened and waited for him to return to my room. When he returned, he asked how I was feeling and begin to inspect my wound. He mention I could eat and sit up in the bed. The nurse ensured I was physically fit for discharge by having me walk in the hospital. I walked well enough to be discharged. The nurse instructed me with complete care instructions for the surgical wound and the do's and dont's. A polite transport hospital employee greeted me and wheeled me outside of the hospital. Reflecting back on my recent experience at LMC, I am truly impressed with the competent care and attention to detail in respect to patient care. During my entire stay, I felt comfortable in that I was in good hands and that the attending nurses and support employees were available to assist me.
