Food was VERY good. The prices were average for a place specializing in seafood and steak. The real treat is the ambiance. If you've ever wondered what it would feel like eating a large upscale meal in a small-town library, then this place is for you. It is kinda small, and although we didn't have a problem being seated, I'm pretty sure that's not always the case. Especially if you're going at normal dinner times.

We had a wonderful meal last night. The new Orleans shrimp and grilled swordfish were prepared perfectly. Our server Alex handled a packed bar area very well and provided great service. The only negative was listening to the table beside us lecture poor Alex about how he should stop serving plastic straws. The poor guy was slammed and this ivory tower couple felt the need to make themselves feel superior but wasting his time about something he has no control over. Thanks for the great meal and service and kudos to Alex for not dumping the drinks on them which is what they deserved.

I grew up in Portsmouth & this was my first library visit. The martinis were on point. Their 16 oz sirloin melted in my mouth. (Which was big enough to split with my sister) and the peanut butter pie was out of this world. I WILL be back again. If not for the excellent food & service, it'll be for the decor alone. Excellent all-around experience.

This is a typical high end steak house. Great food, great service and high end prices. Our waitress was okay, but didn't offer cracked pepper for the salad or steak even though it was sitting right there. Our good came out like warm, but it was still good. I have to assume it's the waitresses fault when food isn't hot.

Good basic food for a place that has been in Portsmouth for a long time. Don't expect to find anything creative, and bring a lot of money. Extremely over-priced for what you get. Small portions, and pretty bland. We split a Caesar salad, an entree and a side, plus three glasses of wine between us and left having spent $110, and we we're still hungry. Plan to dine with mostly older white people talking about golf. I doubt I'll be back.
