Local Experience, founded by Eric Russell and Lara Kurtak, is a new store in Winter Park, CO specializing in snow sports boot fitting and footwear for everyday mountain living. We also have a gear repair and tune center to service all your precious gear. With vast experience in boot fitting and gear service you are guaranteed to get the best fit and service for optimal comfort and performance. Please stop by and check us out. We are all geared up for bike tuning and restoration, and if you are in need of gear repair you can bring it in anytime.

We had our skis tuned here and they did the best job that I have had in years. Great experience and it was clear we got a great value for the price.

.Went into the retail store, they were promoting custom foot inserts, for under.$300. Thought I would give them a try they did not have any customers in the shop. Asked if I could get an insert. They refused and said they were too busy. I acknowledged and said your loss, and walked out. The owner chased me down the block, and informed me it was not his loss, he didn't need the sale, and that it is my loss. I said no your loss and as he walked away he flipped his middle finger at me, and said a few choice words. Won't go back, and recommend no one else does also. I can not believe that a community that depends so much on tourist review allows this type of behavior

My wife was having terrible foot pain in her ski boots. She has seriously messed up feet -- don't get me started! I was scared we were going to have to shell out a ton of money for new boots. Then we took her to Local Experience last winter, and the boot fitter was like a mystic healer-- spent a long time fitting her boot just right, and it changed her life! She was so happy, I ended up taking my own boots to be fitted.... and same result: best and most comfortable fit ever. We were so thrilled my sister and sister-in-law also went, got fitted, and bought boots. Great experience! Then we even ended up buying new snow boots because they had a great selection and were so knowledgeable. Prices seemed pretty competitive -- and, damn, the service is one-of-a-kind. I just sent some friends there today, and thought I should pay it forward by writing a positive review. Thanks for everything!

Expert bootfitter? Look no further. My wife and I both have bought ski boots from Lara and Eric and our toes couldn't be happier. They provide a spectacular customer experience, and they have got ALL the tools to make a perfect fit... custom footbeds, custom liners, all the equipment to make adjustments, etc. I have been to a certain celebrity bootfitter over in Boulder... he's not even close to the level of service at Local Experience. Customers for life!

What a great experience! Eric spent 5 hours with me finding just the right ski boot for my extremely difficult foot to fit. He and Lara never made me feel like I was taking too much of their time and he was very patient with me to ensure that I FINALLY have the right boot after 20 years on terrible boots! I am confident that these will be the ones and am very impressed with his expertise and commitment to making it work. The added bonus is that this shop is truly a diamond in the rough....their selection of shoes for men, women and kids is bar none for the active Coloradoan! It rivals even the biggest Outdoor Recreational Equipment Stores on the Front Range! I'm bringing my family and kids in for all their shoe needs!
