We just had the most excruciating experience there trying to cancel our membership. When we first came in, the women up front were super nice and very helpful and everything was going just fine. However, the westport road manager on Sat 3/10/2018 at noon who's name is pronounced "Tay shawn" was unbearably rude after we disagreed with what he was saying about our cancellation. We have been trying to cancel for over a month which was 30 days notification for the company. He wanted to charge us yet another month even though we had already given notification that we wanted out. We called and we came in to cancel and sign the ending paperwork. We did not agree that we should be charged yet again but he continued to say that we were not listening to him when it was clear that he was not hearing that we had already notified them. He told us to "get out" and then said that we could "call corporate and complain". I have never in my life been told to "get out" of a facility that I once loved. We both were made to feel like complete trash and that is not what we went in there for. This poorly skilled manager did not want to deal with the fact that we had a disagreement so he began to be disrespectful and just about physically kicked us out. I have never felt so embarrassed and upset at the same time. I loved this gym but now, even if we do decide to renew a gym membership, it will not be LAC. I could not believe the disregard shown to us today simply because of a misunderstanding and this persons poor listening skills. 1 star because I like the gym equipment and cardio room, but Tay Shawn does not need to be in the customer service dept at all after the complete disrespect and disregard he showed two customers who have been members for over 5 years. That's quite a bit of money we have given them and then Tayshawn goes and treats customers like this. LAC needs better management with better customer service skills.

I went in to cancel my membership because I only use the cardio theater when I come in anyways because of how crowded it usually is. I called in a month prior and they told me I had to come in. I stopped payment because with your membership, you pay ahead and I didn't want to pay for another month. I go in and there are some very helpful, nice ladies in the front. When the older lady looked up my account, she looked at me like there was going to be a problem. They apparently tried to take my payment the day before and I had already put a stop to payment. I said "I definitely don't want to pay for a month of not using your facility. I haven't been here in 6 to 8 months as it is." She knew where I was coming from. She called someone to help. I ended up with a guy named "Taeshawn" that told me I was rude. He told me I was interrupting him trying to explain I owed them 35 dollars. I explained I heard him and listened and he told me I was being disrespectful. That is what the conversation went to. It was never about my account. It was about the fact he didn't want to deal with me and just wanted me to leave. At that point I told him again I'm not paying for another month when I have tried to cancel more than once with them. I even started the conversation that there was nothing wrong with the facility. Just stated I do not come in anymore and haven't for a long time. It ended with us being asked to leave because we were causing a problem. They got to a point they started to say something about my language after he started an argument with me. I pointed at the wall that shows that Superbad is playing in the cardio theater. They have no concern about language obviously. Again, he was name calling and told me I was being disrespectful. It was a terrible thing to be part of as people were coming and going. It's embarrassing to be having an argument with someone over a counter in public when all of it could have just been avoided. Eventually, a guy behind Taeshawn outright just said "Get out." He was the same one that was telling me to watch my language. He came around the counter like he was going to get physical with me. I asked for Corporate's number but they were too busy telling me I'm a terrible customer to give it to me. They never wanted to help me. I waited on the guy in the red shirt to touch me or even get close because he acted like he was going to actually fight me. This was the worst customer experience I have ever had with anyone. I have never had to come to a point that I thought I was going to fight someone at a counter of any place in my life. Taeshawn was called to the front twice before someone went to go actually look for him. I do not believe the customer is always right. I don't but they are allowed to disagree. This time, it was "I'm going to tell him he is being disrespectful though he didn't attack me at all." He literally picked a fight with me not to help me. The fact he gets to speak to customers period is ridiculous. The guy following me out the door telling me to "get out" wouldn't dare say that to me if I wasn't walking out. If he was security, he was the worst. I turned around and confronted him and told him that telling me to "get out" as I was leaving was just the most ridiculous thing he could do. That just makes him look like he has some sort of power he doesn't have to tell me to do something I already was doing. He sat there quietly. I left. There should never be a time where anybody at an establishment that is respectable should act like they are going to fight you. The guy in the red shirt had nothing to say to me period. He wasn't even part of what was going on. He just put himself in the mix to act tough towards me but found he wasn't as tough as he acted. "Acting tough" is not a desirable trait in any place that has actual customers that come and go. The guy trying to act tough after I got mad that Taeshawn was namecalling is the only time I have ever felt attacked in a customer service environment. He created a problem and then told me I'm a problem. Good work guys.

Ghetto ringworm cesspit. Weird hidden membership fees. Good luck getting to use any of the equipment ever.

Love the yoga classes and machines. I'd give it 5* but can't get a personal trainer to call me.back.

They do not care about their customers at all. They just care about making money and once you are in a contract they could care less about how you feel about them.
