With all the great reviews, I was looking forward to a great pizza. It wasn't horrible but certainly nothing to warrant the rave reviews. The pizza was very bland even with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and cheese. For the richness/heaviness of the pizza I expected a lot more flavor. The sauce needed more oregano, garlic, maybe something acidic to add a sparkle. The pepperoni tasted like something bought off a chain grocery store shelf. Cheese was okay, but how about a blend instead of just mozzarella. I felt the food was significantly overpriced for the flavor. I will not be returning.

Rating experience overall. Luigi's anchors a remnant block of old Akron. Inside right blend of mid-century class and Italian kitsch (reminds me of Marion's in Dayton). Pizza delightfully doughy with crispy cheese to edge of the crust. House 'salad' great for what it is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Love their antipasto salad. I had the baked combo dinner. It was delicious. There iced tea was fresh brewed. Friendly service. Clean restaurant. There was a line to get in. However, it didn't take us long to be seated. Highly recommended.

Definitely overrated. Their pizza isn't all what it's cracked up to be. Waited over 20 minutes to get service. They only take cash or check. The decor of the place was pretty sweet. Pretty sure it is a historical landmark.

We were there on approximately 10 August 2017 while passing through. Location is very nice just off the downtown, with adequate parking. Shared a lasagna and a antipasti salad. So, when you arrive, if there is a wait, get in the line near the counter, and cash only. A basic interior with close proximity seating and some booths. Service was very good and the waitress was engaging. The "salad" was iceberg, which we do not prefer, a tomato, some salami hiding and a ton of cheese on top. Average, a (2.5) for the salad. The lasagna was saucy and you have a few options, vegetarian or not. It was good, however, their large portion was medium and the large salad was large. No beer on tap, for those who like that option a definite negative. The Henieken were very good in the bottle. Hopefully the pizza is better?
