We came here on a Monday afternoon because it's impossible to get a seat at Lula Cafe on the weekend. If the rating were just for the quality of food I would give an unabashed five star review. The zucchini bread French toast was truly superior to 99% of French toasts I've ever eaten. If the uniqueness turns you off, don't let it. The bread is thick, sweet, crunchy and wonderful. We also enjoyed the breakfast sandwich with chicken (delicious if not hard to eat) and the stone fruit bowl. Both were excellent and presented beautifully. My only critique is that the service was incredibly sub par. We waited 15 minutes just for water, and our waitress didn't even introduce herself so we waited a long time to order. Kudos to the kitchen staff  because the food was A+. I think a slightly greater focus on customer service would set this place aside clearly in my mind as one of the best brunches in Chicago.

The food here is always excellent. Fresh, quality, really creative. The patio is lovely on a warm night and the atmosphere is perfect. Great service and even better food. We got the pork belly off the seasonal menu and it was out of this world.

The food was excellent. Got the Lula breakfast burrito. It was lightly toasted in a thick, quality tortilla with buttery scrambled eggs, gooey cheddar cheese, huge chunks of potato, and veggies that practically melt in your mouth. The iced coffee was very refreshing. Service was kind, friendly, and very personable. The staff is extremely attentive.

Lula has been a favorite for years. They simply provide a consistently exciting culinary experience without fail. I love their ever changing menu. The patio is dog friendly and provides a great place stop after a trip to the farmers market.

A bunch  of whatever  items  stored in two  old bad maintain storefronts. Food can be  served better.  Watch where you  step or seat
