Very cool bar.  It's hip and trendy.  One of the only bars to actually be around the entire time I've lived in Rochester.  The rest are fly-by-night operations that open today as "pulse lounge" and tomorrow will reopen as "emerald club".  
Also, Bill Murray enjoys Lux, or at least wore a lux shirt while he visited Rochester so ... 5 stars.

Lux is a wonderful cozy bar in the South Wedge. They have a good selection of drinks and the prices are quite reasonable. Its a friendly bar with a number of theme nights for extra fun. There's a pool table inside and a fenced in outside area with a fire pit, plenty of picnic tables, and some games to play. The clientele is down to earth and welcoming

I used to frequent Lux and it was my go-to bar on the weekends, but the new bouncers they have are unbelievably rude.

After ordering a few drinks and having settled at a table near the door, we had had a nice and relaxed evening.  None of my party was very drunk and we hadn't caused any fuss at all.  At around quarter to 2, one of their guys approached our table and told us "you need to leave now".  One of my friends started to say "okay!  I'm just finishing my drink" and he interrupted her "NOW!".  He assumed an aggressive posture and stepped up to her as if he was hoping to physically throw her out.  We left, and while waiting for our cab I got the attention of another of their bouncers and was trying to describe the first guy's extreme rudeness and unnecessary aggression and he interrupted me to say "we'll deal with that another time" and shut the door in my face.

The point of bouncers/security in a bar (I thought) was to promote safety and enjoyment for staff and patrons, but these guys were extremely aggressive and rude. I hope they make some changes because the bar staff and atmosphere are lovely.  It doesn't matter how great the bartenders are, though, if the night ends with a threatening encounter with rude and dismissive security.

I love the atmosphere, though im not sure how to describe it. Being able to go outside and chill by a bonfire is a big plus. I believe there's live music, and a pool table as well. I have enjoyed pretty much all of my visits

Christmas lights, hammock, picnic tables, outdoor fire. 3$ pbr and a shot... what more could you want from a bar? Outdoor summer movies? Oh they have those too! Love it here
