Story

Ma.La.Kor came into fruition after two years of cultivation and patience. We had opened Basil
Box at the Columbia Tower Atrium in downtown Seattle in 2012. It is a fast paced, cooked to order venue serving the tenants of Columbia Tower and its neighboring buildings, where they only have one hour to grab lunch. With Natee Srithong at the culinary helm, we gained customer loyalty and confidence. But, Natee’s dream was always to operate a sit down restaurant, to have more time to get to know the customers and to share his passion of good food and Thai cuisine. Thus, he came to Papaya Corp with the idea of Ma.La.Kor, which means papaya in Thai.

Natee’s joy of cooking began when he was 5 years old, helping out his mom and sisters in the kitchen. Then, when he grew older, he would be the one going to the market to pick up ingredients for the family’s evening meal. His family currently operates a successful café in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. His passion and pride in his culture and cuisine is evident in all the dishes he prepares.
