I reserved and paid for a room prior to arrival. I had a long day and did not arrive until almost 11pm along with my infant and 3 year old child. I was asked to provide a $250 CASH only deposit. I do not carry that much cash and I do not carry a debit card. I only carry two credit cards when I travel. At 11pm I was turned away because I was not able to pay a $250 cash deposit. I told the front desk they could use my credit card for this deposit which is the same thing I do at every hotel. I was told there are no exceptions and that I would not be allowed to check in. This hotel turned me away with 2 small children at 11pm at night when I had already booked and paid for a room days prior. I was aware of the $250 deposit when I booked, but did not find anywhere that that it would need to be CASH ONLY! I am appalled at this level of terrible customer service and that anyone would turn away a paying customer with 2 small kids at 11pm at night when a method of payment had been provided.

I frequent many hotels throughout my travels, and usually do not take the time to post, whether negative or positive. This time around I have to recognize a superior effort. The staff here at MainStay Pensacola is, way above standard. Jessica was the first lady I spoke with, and she did everything to accommodate me. I was in a tough spot, and explained this to her, and she helped me out. Thank you Jessica!! I just arrived home after a very stressful day, and I receive a gift bag full of great snacks, and a, Hand Written Note, on a card that I have included in this post. What a great way to end a horrible day. Great job gals!!! My room is great!! I would like to just live here.

My Star rating would have been 5 star but our evening last night was totally unnecessary and a huge inconvenience! We were staying in room 212 upon entry into the room everything appeared to be fine and in working order. WE WERE WRONG! The heater never started working despite the 2 visits we received from maintenance,on both occasions the solution was to reset the unit and advise us to wait 1 hour to see any results. Sadly the temp never rose above 68. Second issue, we decided to use the fire place and for whatever reason the smoke was not leaving the room which triggered the fire alarm .. we yet again call to the front desk maintenance returns and he seemed kinda clueless on what to do , finally my husband suggest putting it out with water .. which he does .. but by this time the room is filled with smoke and we're advised that the windows do not open and we will have to leave our door open until the smoke clears.. keep in mind its 50 -60 degrees outside and a little breezy.. so in addition to already being cold we had to leave the room door open and I felt very unsafe doing that.. So we did just that.. attempted to clear the smoke.. but it never did clear and the heat never came on ! So we call to the front desk again and FINALLY we're offered a different room!! EUREKA .. I'm highly disappointed with the service and the time it took to reach a solution.My initial complaint was report sometime around 7 pm we weren't offered a new room until sometime after 10 pm. The only reason why I didn't request a refund and locate another property last night was because my husband is on crutches and it was late and we were exhausted.!

This is by far one of the BEST places I've ever stayed. The hot Breakfast is great they have a Wonderful variety to choose from. Jessica & Megan are always helpful & very friendly service always. The wonderful house keeping always had the room clean, beds made. They also have a Choice members program & on Monday- Thursday from 5:30 pm - 7 pm they have snacks, food, games, beer & wine for Choice members. I love the full kitchen with everything you need & fireplace, hot tub, swimming pool. They also have a laundry room. I will always stay here when in the area. & will look for MainStay Suites wherever I'm traveling to.

Clean rooms with hardwood flooring. Everything thing is appointed very ergonomically. Positioned nextdoor to a crematorium, which is mildly creepy. Location is somewhat secluded, but did not appear unsafe. Breakfast was acceptable and staff was pleasant. Will likely return.
