Story

Mangia? Food tour?... Say what? “Mangia” is Italian for “Eat! Enjoy!” Mangia DC is our way of helping locals and tourists alike enjoy DC and all it has to offer—the food, the sights, the history, and the people!

Join us for our Italian Food Tour! Our food tour is a walking tour in which an energetic, knowledgeable guide with a passion for food will show you around the city just like a historic sightseeing tour—with the added bonus of stops along the way at some of the area's most unique and delicious restaurants for tastings. We will stop at 4-5 local eateries and sample at least one dish. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies, we will be more than happy to accommodate.

Unlike many major U.S. cities, Washington, DC doesn’t have an official Little Italy. However, that isn’t to say our fair city isn’t home to some of the world’s best Italian food. Schedule your food tour today and taste for yourself what DC has to offer!

We did the Italian food tour and it was perfect! The tour guide was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the restaurants and Dupont's history. The food was delicious, and it was a nice amount of walking and eating time. It doesn't leave you extremely full, but it is the perfect amount! Also, some proceeds go towards the local homeless shelter- which I think is a fantastic use of money!

I had a mind blowing experience with Mangia Food Tours. The guides blew me away with their astonishing eloquence and knowledge of the restaurant. I went on the tour as a field trip with my Hospitality and Tourism class at Ballou High School and while teaching us the history of the area, they also taught us the importance of creating relationships with other companies. Overall I had an amazing experience and hope that other people will soon have an opportunity to do the same.

So I've done other food tours, and this was quite disappointing. We only did 4 tastings, and one of them was a free olive oil tasting. The last was a cookie in a bag. Our guide didn't really know much about the area and definitely didn't know the food. Wander around and find some food yourself, and you'll spend less and have more fun.

I like the Mangia food tour because I experienced a lot of new food I wouldn't have eaten. I would recommend it to others because its a new way to meet new people and eat different foods from different cultures.
