Let's be honest. I love diners and dives. And I love meatloaf. My wife and I usually prepared meatloaf at home, but this one is exceptional. Bacon wrapped meatloaf, with mashed potatoes and green beans, in the heart of Adams Morgan? It's possible. It's not from the Fifties, but The Diner is a good example of a neighborhood diner. It's cheap, friendly and solid. What else? The perfect location for a breakfast or a comfortable dinner with your friends or family.

Great breakfast, the place was slammed when I came noon on a Sunday. I had the french toast, scrambled eggs bacon with an english muffin. French toast came with strawberries it was delicious, like a meal made from your grandmother. On point. It did take some time for food to arrive, but it was expected since it was slammed! Staff was friendly. Only gripe is I sat at the bar, and my knees are colliding with the desk in front of me. The design should have left another 6 inches between the base of the counter and the stool. Most people at the bar had the same issue, some were sitting sideways to adjust. Overall great, delicious, should visit!

Nostalgic vibes with a vibrant atmosphere. I went here after midnight on a Friday with some friends and we were seated pretty quickly. The staff were friendly; the food was good for the most part, but wasn't particularly notable. Great place for a late night dive with a few friends, or even by yourself, if you want to sit at the bar! The really high ceilings and adorable tile floors make for an amazingly mid-century diner aesthetic. Only criticism is the number of TVs.

To put it simply, the DINER is the BEST Diner I have ever been to. Service is easily 10/10, the breakfast royale (I believe that is what it’s called) is perhaps the best breakfast in DC. I went back twice in a single day and had an incredible jambalaya that was only $12. If you are a morning person I would say the DINER is a requirement to eat at no matter the distance. I have to say thank you to the incredible staff and owner who have made my mornings for the last 4 years absolutely unforgettable!

Outdoor wait on a Saturday night but thankfully it was less than 5 minutes. Very small tables which couldn't really accommodate a meal for 2 at a 2 top. Friendly staff but they seemed a bit unorganized. Good food. Decent portion sizes. All around an ok place to eat.
