Local hardware store. Good for little trips

Had a great time shopping there just now. I bought a fluorescent light to replace the dead one over my sink. And they even let me drop off the old light to recycle!

I had been shopping at Mapes for about thirty years in different locations. I thought it was a fabulous, fantastic store and spent hundreds of dollars there every year. The staff was always very polite and helpful--until today. They hired a kid who said his name was "Jeff", although he probably made it up. He was unspeakably nasty and rude and said to me "Get out of my store" because I told him that ten minutes was too long to wait for a check to clear because he didn't know how to use their new system. Atfer almost ten+ minutes he refused to take my check although I had been writing them at Mapes for years and was a regular customer. He told me he was going to call the police if I didn't get out of "his" store. I then gave him an AX card and left. he came out of the store and told me to give "his" stuff back altho I had already charged it. His behavior was crude, nasty, rude and unspeakable. I told him what I thought of him and left. No response from Mapes. Incidentally I am a senior citizen.

I was there at 8:42 this morning and the place was closed. Very frustrating since the display hours are 8 AM. Please update your hours of operation!
