The hot chocolate here was so good! I would definitely give them a try just for that. It wasn’t too crowded when we went at night. It’s a little expensive for hot chocolate but it’s honestly worth it.Food: 5/5
Went there on a Sunday noon without reservation but were still accommodated since there are availability. People are very nice and OMG the hot/iced chocolate is to die for. Also their lava cake- amazing!!! One thing I miss is buying the chocolate for take out so I can have hot chocolate at home. Will definitely come backFood: 5/5
We went for their afternoon Tea service and it was wonderful. Lovely setting- a little cramped, but it's NYC. Everything was delicious! The classic tea offered the traditional sweet and savory options, but with some original twists. It was a lot for one person! Other food options included a delicious and perfectly cooked quiche, salads, other sandwiches, pastries, and a chocolate fondue that I'm getting next time! Drink options were vast! Whatever you might feel like for teas, coffees, wines. Since it is also a chocolate shop, I highly recommend getting a hot or frozen hot chocolate! It is amazing! Once you're stuffed, make sure to browse all the chocolate options in the beautiful front room!
This was my first time at this establishment. I took my mom here to try the afternoon tea service. The service here was very attentive and friendly. The tea service was a lovely treat for us. We started with a soup that was delightful. We were each able to choose what tea flavor we wanted for our tea pots. We had guava and lychee tea. I tend to prefer fruitier teas so the guava ended up being my favorite. The finger sandwiches were delicious. We were very full by the time we got to the dessert tray. This felt like a feast. We left very happy. We look forward to returning again.
Highlights: grand decor, spacious seating, variety of options, warm staff! A chocolate junkie’s dream house! Beautifully designed store with countless options for delicious, indulgent chocolate. Spotted so many enticing flavors - ranging from classics like milk/dark chocolate and dulce de leche to fruit jelly and fig. They have plenty of assorted flavors and gift options. There’s a dine in setup at the back with equally gorgeous decor and the nicest staff. Order your to-go drink here or sit and enjoy some well deserved indulgence. There’s a whole menu of hot drinks, however they were serving only one iced drink when I visited - the Aztec iced chocolate. I got the Aztec since it was a HOT day and it surely made my walk home cooler.
What a fun high tea experience! The food and drinks were fantastic. The servers kept coming around with samples of their different hot chocolates so we got to try almost all of them. The hot chocolate and pastries were definitely the best part of the experience for me. The tables were small and often crowded with food and drinks, but that’s NYC for you. The servers were good, although sometimes they got bogged down with work and you had to wait a while for your next course. They made adjustments for food allergies without issue. Wheelchair accessibility: It’s probably technically accessible but the high tea room is cramped and hard to navigate in a wheelchair.
I had afternoon tea for my birthday and had the privilege of being served by “Johnny the Trouble Maker” lol. He was extremely professional, genuine, and made my birthday truly memorable. The food was absolutely exquisite and the hot chocolate was so decadent. I savored every moment. You will not be disappointed and hopefully you will have the honor to meet Johnny.
The best hot Coco in New York City ————————Updated ———————- I made a reservation for a girls date at this place. I'd only ever had hot chocolate from the front before, so I was really excited to experience dining inside. Initially, I was thinking of getting the Afternoon Tea, but after seeing the menu, I craved something with chocolate. The staff recommended Le Moelleux Au Chocolat, which we paired with Chocolate Rose and Guava Tea. Since I'm allergic to strawberries, they kindly substituted grapes. The dessert was perfect - crispy on the outside with a rich chocolate center. The vanilla ice cream it came with was smooth and sweet, delicious on its own or with the fruit. There are quite a few other items on the menu I'd love to try, so I'm already looking forward to my next visit! If you have a sweet tooth, I highly recommend this place. It's so nice for a cozy catch-up with friends or a special treat.
A wonderful experience. Two magical rooms filled with beautiful decor and chocolate! Everything was delicious especially the white hot chocolate. The service was great. Johnny the Troublemaker was the best! I look forward to returning.Food: 5/5
