After going to this location for several years, I finally have to say I am not satisfied with the staff. Not the physician but the feeling that I am taking up too much time with the desk staff. The phlebotomist gives absolutely no acknowledgement other than having this patient acknowledge 4 tubes. My arm was bruised the evening of the visit and still is. He is the worst. I have gone to other phlebotomists for other specialties and each time they take specimens but NEVER do I feel like a teaching tool. The checkout receptionist was not happy when I noticed that an order was written for only some of what I needed and when I mentioned I would wait for a new one she was rather unhappy and didn't even try to get a quick correction. Unfortunately having worked in an oncology department myself for 8 years and being on her side of the desk, I know what could have been done but maybe her being on the other side would have felt my frustration in trying to get out of there. This is not a review of the doctor, only the staff.

FANTASTIC place! De. Koutrelakos (Dr. K) took EXCELLENT care of my precious husband. HIGHLY recommend them! VERY caring and helpful staff too! =) =) When having blood. result problems and was told I needed to see a hematologist, I knew EXACTLY where to go, too!!! Can't recommend highly enough.

This is not the place to go for hematology issues. I was told I would be a lifelong anticoagulant patient where upon further review, that was absolutely not the case. Do not recommend, this practice wasted 6 months of my life.

Bottom line up front: Dr K is a great doctor and I would trust him and his staff of nurses, PAs, and NPs with my life again and the lives of my family if they also got sick. I was a 32 year old male diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Dr Koutrelakos is a really great doctor. His team, PA Adam and NP Ally were also helpful, smart, and sweet. I chose MD Oncology over John's Hopkins because of its availability, flexibility, and overall care. Since my case was pretty standard, the treatment was no different, so the more intimate setting was a better fit for me. The facility is ok. To be honest, you are literally going to sit in a room and get pumped with chemicals and one chair is as good as the next. The infusion nurses are great and very caring. The triage nurse is great and available. I was able to call in and get scripts for side effects within an hour. The infusion coordinators and front desk/billing team is also amazing. They handle all the insurance garbage and needed referrals for PETscans. I loved speaking with Danielle while waiting for my blood work. I've read comments here and other places that state that Dr K is sarcastic and non-caring. Dr K is sarcastic and that might not work for everyone. He is however, very caring and an excellent doctor. I had a severe complications with intrathecal chemo infusion that was done outside of his practice and he was able to diagnose swelling in my spinal cord when a large team of specialists HCGH could not. I remember asking Dr K early on in my treatment if I was going to die and he responded that he didn't know. I could see someone getting upset by this and not trusting him, but the truth is...how the heck is he supposed to know? Cancer is tricky to treat, responds to treatment based on case-by-case cell mutations, and he is not God. He could probably sugar coat his words more, but I'd prefer blunt facts when dealing with something as serious as cancer. His NP and PA are really sweet and round out the team. I would trust him with the life of my children and wife if they also got sick.

My doctor makes me feel important to him. He answers all my questions and I never feel rushed. The entire staff is competent, considerate, and friendly.
