Watch out triathletes...I won't be going back after a series of bad experiences and incompetence. Here's the TL;DR: The mechanic totally messed up my bike right before a race, and I had to pay another mechanic to fix it. Here's the whole story: I took my bike in for a tune-up before a local race in October. My bike was generally fine before the tune-up, but I wanted to make sure it was race ready. I have a Trek Speed Concept. They finished the tune-up quickly and said that everything looked great. BUT, when I took it out for a short test ride, I experienced some rough shifting. Then it dropped the chain. It's now race week, so I call the manager in a panic (he, at least, was helpful). He tells me to bring it back, and that he'd have another mechanic look at it. Unfortunately, once I arrived, the manager sent me right back to the same mechanic. The mechanic works on the bike and sends me on my way. I take it for a test ride in the parking lot. It's still not shifting correctly; it's still about to drop the chain. So I take it back inside, tell the manager that it's not right, and ask if they have anyone who specializes in tri bikes. He says yes, but that they aren't available. So it goes back to the original mechanic. I explain that it seems like there's too much tension on one of the derailleur cables. So he works on it again. I take it for a test ride--still not 100%, but good enough for a race. I do my race. I took second, so the bike obviously held up. However, I was reluctant to shift the whole time, which is clearly not ideal. Now, here's the kicker. This week, I decided to finally get a professional bike fit (NOT from McGhie's). It was the first time I'd ridden my bike since the race. Honestly, I had forgotten about the whole shifting saga. So, I'm up on the trainer doing the whole fit thing, and the shifting starts getting really clunky. The person doing my fit notices and asks me to shift through my gears. I did, and the derailleur cable immediately snapped. Weird. He looks at it (with me right there) and points out a loose shifter and broken cable housing. These things were obvious once he pointed them out. I have him fix the bike. In the process of fixing it, he points out several other issues that, in my opinion, the McGhie's mechanic should have fixed. Now, is it possible that I somehow damaged my bike during the triathlon? Maybe. But I think it's much more likely that the McGhie's mechanic (a) either missed the damage when I brought it in or (b) somehow caused the damage when he worked on my derailleurs. Again: The shifting was MUCH WORSE after the tune-up than it was before. Very disappointing.

The staff use to have a super friendly, customer oriented focus. This location has gone in a much different direction. Bike repairs are not done on time. They fail to contact you when its done. I had to take my bike back today after picking it up 2 days ago because of a pinch flat on a new tube and a new tire. While this stuff happens, I should be the one who is upset that i had to make yet another trip to get it repaired again, not the way around. The staff were overwhelmed by the amount of work that they have that they forget to treat the customers with respect. You can feel the negativity and frustration and then when it gets directed back at you...its your turn to make decisions. I wont be back. There are other bike shops in town.

Everyone is very friendly. Most are very knowledgeable. Sales people aren't pushy and service staff offer plenty of free information. Comfortable atmosphere. Large inventory.

Great experience there. Had the service department press a headset in that I supplied. A piece was missing- they scrounged around and found a piece that worked- I will be back!
