We were heading to IA from WI for a family event and added an additional hour to our drive to see a vehicle at McGrath.  We had called and set up the appointment in the days before, yet when we arrived the sales manager our appointment was with wasn't available.  The sales person we met with was not well educated on the vehicle, and after we looked at it we had a list of concerns that we wanted addressed before making our decision.  The sales person went back and forth many times saying he got an answer for 1 out of the 6 concerns we had, were we ready to move forward?  By the time we got him to address all six, we were getting very frustrated.  When it finally came time to take the vehicle home, some issues still hadn't been properly addressed but it was a blizzard and we were told they didn't have time to look at some things.  We contacted the sales manager after the fact, and while he was working on addressing the remaining issues, he informed us that we were also misinformed about the vehicle's guarantee while we were there; it had actually expired when we were told it was still good.  So we had the choice of either sending it back down to them (adding an additional 500 miles to the vehicle), or taking the dealership warranty, which we did.  They knew we'd be taking it in to a local dealership to have an issue fixed that they "didn't have time to look at" that day, but when our local dealer submitted the fix for the warranty, they were told our vehicle had no warranty.  Apparently McGrath only submits paperwork once a month, and even though the manager knew we were dealing with this issue, no rush was placed on our warranty paperwork.  So my husband had to spend time while at work trying to figure out whether we actually had a warranty, then wait while McGrath's technical difficulties with a fax machine delayed the process even longer.  The local dealer also found a leak in the radiator that McGrath apparently didn't know about... and in the month that we've owned the vehicle 3 pieces of trim have come loose and need to be replaced, at our own expense.  In the end, we got (most) of the missing items that we were told we'd get, still waiting on some (over a month later), and while we like the vehicle, we would never return to or recommend McGrath to anyone.  We felt like second-class customers as it was mentioned multiple times that we were purchasing a used vehicle (+$50,000), not new, and they don't normally go to all this trouble for used vehicles.  While we received a  gift card as a form of apology, it doesn't outweigh the time, stress, and additional funds getting this vehicle in proper condition has taken.

We had an amazing experience working with Taylor, Gage and Katy. They were great to work with and listened to our needs and wants. I couldn't believe how friendly EVERYONE that works there is. We buy ALOT of vehicles, constantly changing our needs and wants, and we were dealing with a local dealership. Now we'll make the drive to Cedar Rapids, well worth the hour drive.

Alyssa was awesome... jumped thru many hoops to make sure my service was perfect... kept me informed every bit of the way.  Very Happy with the Veloster and With Alyssa.. I will work with her again!

It was a long, stressful day when I went to McGrath Auto to purchase my new Jeep. We worked with Alex and he was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable about the car that we purchased and worked very hard with us to get us the payments as low as we needed in order to drive away that day. he was super friendly and was even interacting with my 8 month old son, trying to keep him calm when he was getting crabby. I would definitely recommend McGrath auto and Alex to anyone in business to buy a car! Everyone was very friendly and made us feel like we were a part of a family, not just another customer trying to sell us a car.

Tyler George was very easy to work with and went above and beyond to work with my busy schedule. He made purchasing a car very easy and not stressful!
I would recomend Tyler to anyone looking to purchase a new vehicle.
