Very nice staff, below average food. The grits were bland and watery, and the cheese omelette was pretty blah. It was very bright inside, and the decor was spiritless Americana. You won't find any surprises here, so if you just want simple American food, you're in the right place.

Great food. Where else can you get a breakfast for 4.99. Waitress all are so friendly. Love the saying ( You can kiss my grits) on coffee mugs or T-shirts. Try Mel's when you come. You won't be sorry.

Quaint 50s diner with lots of 'kiss my grits references everywhere. It's a very busy place, but our wait for a table was 10 minutes tops. I tried the meatloaf, which was good but a little on the dry side. I think next time I'll stick with breakfast.

The restaurant was packed when we went so they were on a wait to be seated. The waitress was not rude, but not friendly either. The floors were dirty and the food was not good. We ordered nachos and the cheese tasted funny and very bland. We've had better nachos at concession stands. The rest of the food was also very bland tasting and worse than fast food restaurants. One of my children didn't eat any of his food after taking one bite. Prices were also high, especially for the quality of food received. Spoke to a family member that is a local after we went here and she wasn't surprised by our experience. She said she would have warned us not to go here if she would have known.

Great experience. Food was super fast and tasted fine. Got a super deal... 2 eggs 2 sausage 2 pancakes for 4.99! Happy customer. Thanks!
