Once you finally get back in a room, the nurses are great! Currently sitting in the ER waiting room for 2 hours, waiting for an ER room. There is a poor guy here who probably has appendicitis and they have just left him in line waiting, with no hopes of pain meds any time soon. Another guy came in with chest pain & he’s been here at least 1/2 hour and still hasn’t been seen by a nurse. There is no hustle by anyone here. I’ve had faster service at the doctor’s office when they run an hour behind. 1 triage nurse to check in all the patients. Come on Mercy, let’s step it up here. It’s an EMERGENCY.
I came here for the first time when I had a tubal pregnancy and I can’t even describe how amazing all the doctors were. They were so kind and did more than expected. From doctors to ultrasound tech, surgeons, etc. Everyone was so kind and took such good care of me. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience through this very scary situation. I hope this reaches the right person because my heart is full of gratitude for the people that were there that night.
I just wanted to share that I had such a pleasant experience, the staff were excellent and took such good care of me! Especially Dr. Jackson ,Adam my nurse and the nice lady doing ultrasounds. I hate hospitals but they were so kind and caring they made the whole experience a little less agonizing. Thank you so much for the extra care and kindness you showed. Excellent bedside manner!
My boyfriend went to this hospital because all his records are in the Mercy Network. The doctor who did procedures was part of his original doctor's team and we really felt he received the best care because they had all his info already. The wait times both in the ER and room waits were horrible though, but were blamed on a full hospital...which is probably true. I would recommend this hospital to anyone that uses Mercy Network doctors exclusively.
My husband was taken here by ambulance and thrown on a hall bed and given some nausea medicine. I was told I could not go back to see him at all and that I would be called by the nurse with an update. After waiting and no call I asked multiple times to speak to the nurse. My husband was discharged after an hour and a half. I was never updated or told anything about what medicine he needed or how to care for him at home. Our estimate after insurance not including the ambulance or any testing was $5,600 total and said we would owe $1,001. Absolutely insane!!!
I had to bring my husband to the ER at 3:30 am on 10-10-21. We were lucky that no one else was in the waiting room then and we were taken immediately into an exam room. We had excellent care and our nurse Kayce was super awesome. Calm and efficient with excellent bedside manner. Thank you!!
I wish I could give less than 1 star. I waited for close to 10 hours to get seen even after informing the ER my doctor thought I had internal bleeding. Because some of my symptoms *could* also be covid symptoms, that’s all they seemed to hear and they dismissed my other issues. They crammed me in a small covid quarantine room 1-2 feet apart from people that obviously had either covid or the flu and were bleeding openly from the face, no masks, and coughing, even though I had just been tested negative for covid, basically guaranteeing I would catch it. They would not allow me to wait in my car and keep my place in line. If they were truly concerned about me infecting others with covid, wouldn’t that have made much more sense and been safer for everyone??? For my own safety, I had no other choice but to stand no place to sit for hours just outside the hospital doors in the heat, hoping to be able to hear them should they call my name. I had to keep running inside to the bathroom every half hour or so to vomit or otherwise void, so did that really protect anyone? And they advised that I needed to come back to the counter every 30 mins to check back in and see if I had lost my place. And now I’m sick, with new flu-like symptoms, from this terrible experience no doubt. I believe that this hospital’s inadequate procedures, lack of compassion and care are responsible for spreading covid in our area.
The triage nurses immediacy brought my mother to a room upon her complaint of chest pain. The doctor Haley Vo and nurse Letty that took care of her once in her room were knowledgeable, loving, and caring to her. I cannot explain how amazing they were to my terrified mother. The woman at the desk at check in was LUPE. She was uncaring, completely rude, and absolutely awful. She repeatedly cut off and interrupted my mom’s questions and comments regarding her condition at check in and refused to allow us to see her name badge upon asking. My mom’s blood pressure rose to 176/100 at triage. Again, we received excellent care by the MEDICAL STAFF at this facility. Just hope that you can live long enough to last through LUPE at the front desk.
The on call nurse told me my 5 year old sons fever, headache, dizziness and stomach pain were so bad that we had to go to the emergency room. There were probably ten people ahead of me and ten people came in afterwards and they have all gone through and we are still waiting. It has been hours. I understand that ambulances come in the back. I understand that some people have greater needs than ours, but EVERYBODY? If they didn’t think he was sick enough to be a priority than I wish their on call nurse wouldn’t have told me to bring him in. I am so tired of the terrible healthcare in this area. I wish the Waltons would spend their money on improving healthcare in this area rather than the bike paths and concert venues.
Brought my grandma in today at 11:30pm. nobody came out to help us get her out of the car, despite her showing signs of a heart attack. the round lady upfront said, “well we told you we would help.” yeah thanks for giving us absolutely nothing!! ER nurses or maybe all staff need a course or two in patient sensitivity. they were cracking and making jokes after my grandma just came back from V-Tach. Young, blunt short bob, doctor said, “sorry you feel that way. she’s doing better and isn’t a priority anymore.” yeah i just watched my grandma’s heart stop, had a panic attack from all that going on, and then you tell me my grandma isn’t a priority??? you should be ashamed. i know covid made it hard to get good people, but this is the standard? shameful. Oh and they left her bag full of vomit in her blankets.
