Wow, thanks for your help, Metro Paws. I called this morning to ask for help with a "Community Cat" that I care for, who is very ill. I don't have lots of "extra cash", and would normally turn to Dallas Animal Services for assistance with this poor elderly cat. However, DAS does not open until 11:00AM. I have a meeting this morning AT 11:00AM, that I simply cannot miss. It really saddens me to think of this poor cat suffering until this afternoon when I return from my meeting. I was not asking for them to offer free services, just perhaps a lowered fee so that he wouldn't end up suffering all day. So profit minded are you, Metro Paws, that you can't or won't be bothered by helping in this situation. Classy, community friendly folks you are not.

Not a very pleasant experience. They charged a deposit of $150 right off the bat without explaining what that would cover. They kept insisting parvo tests for my puppy when deep down I knew it wasn't that. I think 150 is a bit too much even if it were to cover the visit and parvo test. I'm assuming it would cover the stool examination but they didn't give me any options. When it was time to fill in the paper for new clients information I was more baffled. I turned the paper over thinking there would be more to fill out. Instead I found out it was a recycled piece of paper used before with someone else's information such as their stool sample results, emails exchanged and medical advice. That is when I felt like leaving the place but then I remembered they were holding on to my money. My dog and I were not treated friendly at all. When I was located to a room I was asked questions and the lady filled out a sheet and said it all sounded like parvo. I decided I would look for another place and requested a return on my deposit. It was definitely a better decision. At the hospital I went to my puppy was treated so well. They were all friendly and worked with my budget. They also provided a detailed description of the charges without forcing a parvo test. Since I wanted to get that possibilty out of the way we did the parvo test and the result was negative but at this hospital the charge was $40 and $60 for the visit not $150. My visit ended with a total of $144. My puppy was given an injection for nausea and metronidazole. After all that he definitely was better by day two. I'm glad he's back to his normal happy self. For wasting your time I apologize Metro Paws and I know I will not depend on you unless I have extra money to spend.

I was very disappointed with my visit to Metro Paws. I called the animal hospital to make an appointment concerning one of my dogs allergies and to pick up heart worm medicine for my other two dogs. While making the appointment over the phone, the receptionist assured me I didn't need to bring in my other two dogs in order to get heart worm medicine-- as long as they were up-to-date on all of their shots, which they were. As a result, I only took my dog with allergies to the vet appointment. After spending an hour in between waiting and briefly speaking to the vet, I was told to give my dog over-the-counter allergy medicine. When I asked to pick up a six month supply of heart worm prevention for my other two dogs, the vet refused saying she needed to see them in person in order to give them any medicine. She then shamefully forced the receptionist who I had spoken to earlier to apologize to me. I was told I could bring the other 2 dogs in for an examination (costing 40$ each) in order to get the meds. When I asked if one of the examination fees could be waived due to the inconvenience and misinformation, the vet refused. I will not be going back.

I have brought my senior schnauzer in many times for his obsessive licking and the paw issues that are associated with it. They are always very kind and upfront about options, costs, etc. one of the only vet's that doesn't make my poor pup too nervous to walk.
