In 1960, the County Commission passed an ordinance to create the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA). Over the years and under various administrations, MTA evolved into the Metro-Dade Transportation Administration, the Metro-Dade Transit Agency, the Miami-Dade* Transit Agency, and is now known simply as Miami-Dade Transit (MDT). Today's MDT has a viable four-mode system Metrobus, Metrorail, Metromover, and Paratransit (STS)-used by nearly 300,000 passengers daily. A 1997 election changed the name of the County from Dade to Miami-Dade

Two buses broken, gone to garage. Two hours later because of rush hour, praying for a taxi to pass by. Usual to and from travel time is 3 hours. 6 hours if you have to take kids to Miami Children's from Hialeah. From Miami Children's can be a whole morning and afternoon as buses skip going to the bus stops. Friendly, helpful drivers. Horrible transportation system.

I have a job orientation today at 8am first day at work. I live in little Havana so I woke up at 430am to be at the bus drop at 5am. I wanted to get to work early . wanted. I use the app to plan my trip and at first all was going fine until I got to 7n.w. and 40th Ave been waiting for two hours for bus 238 and nothing arrived . two times the app said it would arrive and nothing. Now I am late to the first day at work this disable vet that has traveled the world would say Miami has the worst public transit system in the world. I been to third world countries that have a better transit systems. Even if your traveling with a farm.
