Dr Thompson reminds me of those TV shows from the 1960's-where the kind, warm family doctor who "knows you",listens to you, and is willing to discuss the various options available to you about your health and medical issues. It isn't 1960,it isn't nostalgia . Dr Thompson is up to date on today's "evidence based medicine". Your health and well being isn't relegated to an algorithm or check list. He takes the time to listen, discuss, and answer questions. Your appointment is not a 30 minute wait, and a rushed 3 minutes, like so many other practices. I have been seeing Dr Thompson for 3 years now. I have worked in the medical field for 35 years in direct patient care. This practice is a real gem. It lives up to the patient-centered care idea, rather than the usual blah-blah-blah "mission statement" that is more of an ideal than the actual practice.

Dr. Thompson is great; he is intelligent, patient, and has great bedside manner. The office seems well organized too.

I wasn’t going to write a review, but today I woke up in excruciating pain and the fact that I had an appointment with these people who then turned me away because of an insurance issue, despite the fact that I had cash on hand I could have given them, leads me to believe that they could careless about people. These people are instead concerned with meeting rules and wasting people’s time. My appointment was scheduled for Friday at 9 am, but I was told to come at 8:30 am so I could fill out paperwork. So I got there at 8:30 handed them my drivers license and insurance card then proceeded to fill out the paperwork. I’m uncertain if their office is different than others I’ve been in because generally they have run my insurance within the first few minutes of me being there, but for some reason they didn’t run my insurance until I had been there for an hour. I was informed that the insurance was no longer active. I called my husband and we determined despite it being in his contract that he would get insurance through October through the employer he just left had cancelled his insurance. I let them know what had happened and asked how much the visit was. The woman informed me it was $150. Relieved, I replied “oh, I have that. Let me get that to you.” The woman replied “oh, sorry, but I’m not sure we can accept you even if you can pay because we usually don’t accept uninsured people so I’ll have to ask my office manager.” I waited a handful of seconds for a woman to appear and inform me, relatively coldly, that I wouldn’t be able to make my apppintment even though I could pay, but I was free to make an appointment when I do have insurance.” Flabber gasted I left. I’m a nursing student who works part time serving because I happen to be lucky enough to have married a developer who is able to provide for us while I’m in school. In all of my pre-nursing and intro to nursing courses we are told that we are servants of our community. This place is only in service of the insured and doesn’t give a damn if you have the funds to see them or what your medical condition maybe unless you meet their standards. I waited over an hour to be denied services I had the funds on my person to pay for via debt card or cash. This place may be easy to get into, but there’s obviously a reason for that.

I have been going here for years, there have been a couple changes in staff but for the most part I know everyone working there. they are all very kind and up beat. I moved away and still go there for the TLC that this office shows to me.
