The State Treasurer is the state’s chief financial officer, responsible for managing Missouri’s $27 billion in annual state revenues, directing its banking services and overseeing its $3.5 billion investment portfolio. The State Treasurer safeguards Unclaimed Property that has been turned over by banks, businesses, insurance companies and government agencies, and aggressively tries to locate the owners. The State Treasurer is one of six statewide elected officials, and serves on the management boards of a number of public entities. The State Treasurer is allowed to serve a maximum of two four-year terms.
