A homegrown aesthetic, local grit and open arms cool-brought to you by
one of Athens favorite stylists- Elizabeth Elliott O' Shaughnessy. She's bringing back the neighborhood Beauty Shop with a modern sensibility.
Model Citizen celebrates the idea of "doing good and doing well" We believe the two aren't mutually exclusive. Elizabeth chose to open in the heart of one of Athens' oldest neighborhoods. We are creating a neighborhood "joint" to serve as a resource for the community. High standards, talent and a deep commitment to their craft and community are what makes Model Citizen Salon the place to go.

I love this place!! My stylist Kasey is awesome!!!! She never disappoints! No matter what style  or  cut I'm going for she nails it every time!! She's very attentive and knowledgeable. And makes you feel right at home!! And you leave looking like a million bucks! I always get so many compliments on my hair!!

Lacey was amazing! I went in with a mess of faded red and copper hair, and I just wanted to go back to my normal hair color. She did a great job blending together all the different shades I had so I could go back to a chocolate brunette color. Definitely worth it, plus the environment of the salon is very relaxing and fun!

I had Maddie do an updo for my wedding, and she was INCREDIBLE! She listened to what I wanted and went above and beyond; best of all, she was quick and the style held from 9am until 11pm! Plus, she was great to chat with throughout the whole process and made me feel relaxed the morning of my wedding. Would highly recommend!

I had an appointment with Nathan this morning. Have never had highlights in my hair before. The hair cut was great. Together, my hair looked awesome. They are great for all ages. Very nice people. Recommend them highly.

I needed a haircut for an update to a grown out pixie and called to schedule something same day. I was told they were full but put on a cancellation waiting list. Later that day, they called and informed me they could fit me in. Yay! Anyway, when I arrived, I met Kate, my stylist. She was attentive, friendly, and did a great job interpreting my vague requests for "shaping" my hair and wanting bangs and volume. I left with a GREAT haircut! I will definitely be back to see her!

I've been to several other high end salons in Athens over the years and like those, this one felt hip, but without that exclusionary and "cold" feeling. I recommend it highly.
