Brought my car in because my brakes were grinding. I called Firestone for a price comparison for rear pads and rotors. Firestone was a bit less expensive but Monro was closer. The brake job and oil change ran me $390.00. They completed the repair in a reasonable amount of time. The guy at the counter had told me my cylinder heads had a leak. I walked out to the car while it was on the lift and the heads were dry. Monro is a good shop for routine repairs and maintenance. I'd save major repairs for Firestone or your dealership.

*Please review your bill* I noticed a $15 miscellaneous fee, at first the person behind the counter said he didn't know, called over the guy that worked on the car and their response was "shop fee." After a long pause I asked what that meant he refereed to random lubricant used to remove bolts, never stating that he needed any for my car (with only 30k miles) *Please review your bill*

Always do a good job but I have questioned the prices on several occassions. They wanted $500 to put in a new battery . I know they have to charge for labor but c'mon - thats crazy!

INITIAL REVIEW: Have had 3 major repairs done that we have had to go back to the shop more than twice because they did it wrong. As I type this I'm waiting for AAA to tow my car for the third time after just having them put in a $3000 engine. I've gone to this monro for 8 years and referred them as a great garage. However over the last year and a half or so they have been on a rapid and steady decline. Avoid like the plague or you'll be paying full price and wasting lots of time going back and going without a car. If they fix this and right their wrongs then I'll update this review but I have two cars still waiting to get fixed properly after they've already repaired them both 2 times for the same thing. This type of thing never happened to me when Wes worked there. We've been going to this shop for 8 years but over these last few months it's been a nightmare. And the only reason why we keep going back with these two cars is because we've spent so much money for them to get fixed the first time that I feel like they should be responsible to get it right. So if I bring them to another garage I'm going to need to pay all over again. But like I said we got the Mazda back about 2 hours ago from it's 3rd time being there this time they had it for a week. And now dropped off the Subaru for the 3rd time. I am completely disgusted and will not be returning there again for any type of major repair. I hear the old manager works at the East Hartford Monro so we might check over there. But as of right now we are over $4000 in the hole with these two cars and seem like more problems now than when we brought them in. I would love to just be able to rewind time and invest my money in a different shop and if I didn't have the loyalty to this particular Monro I would have bailed after the first retow/revisit. I only wish they had the same feeling of loyalty towards us. As always I keep updates on if they both ever get fixed and how much more money if any we'll have to give them to get the mistakes fixed. 6/24/16 UPDATE: Thank you Brittany for the response. We just picked up the Mazda again for the 3rd time. So we have our fingers crossed that it is not going to chew up a 3rd pair of wheel bearings like it has the last two times we've gotten it back since they've put in the $3000 motor. They also actually made the air filter hose out of DUCT TAPE because they couldn't find one supposedly and told me I can buy one at any dealership if I want. Today we picked up the Mazda from it's 3rd time of being there each time we've gotten it back it's broken within a day the last time with my wife and kids in the car all the way in New Haven. Unfortunately we had to drop off our Subaru today also for more "warranty" (fix our mistake) work because they replaced the AC in it and that still doesn't work. The first day I got the Subaru back the car shredded the belt on the AC so got it towed back in they fixed that day and apologized. Well within a day it started blowing warm air again now everytime you stop with the car the AC blows hot air. UPDATE 7/8/16 So they fixed the Subaru's AC however the Mazda had to go back again within 4 days of picking it up because the check engine light came on and the AC stopped working. and this time they installed an AC Compressor and when they did apparently wired it wrong and it caught fire. Now we literally have burn marks on our carpet and the entire car smells like an electrical fire. They replaced the burnt motor and put a working one in and we pick it up last week with the burned carpet. Two days go by the battery light comes on. The next day it won't start. So now once again I have an inoperable piece of junk in my driveway. We bought this car with 30K miles on it and always was maintained and ran great up until a month ago when my wife broke down. Then we had them put a "new" motor that they said we needed. Now since then the car has been breaking down left and right. I am completely disgusted and don't know what to do. UPDATE 10/23/2016 Mazda is still not working. 7th return visit because of breakdowns.

Excellent customer service, and can repair almost anything, not just mufflers and brakes, on both domestic and foreign vehicles (like my Jaguars). They are very generous on pricing, especially on the rare delay. Terry and staff run a well-oiled machine. JF
