Bad experience. It's a pretty site...BUT there is a reason you can get in. Arrived Saturday. Horrible noise issues from other campers...mostly from apparent vagrants in the hike/bike camp, but also regular campers who were drunk. Many times during night, people drove in at all hours from the bars, apparently. Sleep was very bad here. We thought this was a weekend night problem, but Sunday night was not better (stayed Oct 2). I'd recommend a camp host, a gate that closes at 9 or 10 pm, and better monitoring of how long people stay in the hike/bike area. p.s. There was a highly suspicious black car hanging out (NOT camping) near the restrooms Sunday morning. That combined with more than just drunk behaviour by the hike/bike clan made us think of a possible drug issue. We will NOT return.

Could improve on the fun scale. Must be quiet, not enough showers for amount of camping space. It is not private and no type of supplies available. Reasonable pricing. Most of the time it's pretty clean too.

Brilliant campsite with spacious sites in a lovely setting. The location is perfect with it being just a 20 minute walk into the old town. You don't have to pay for the showers which are cleaned daily and are hot. All this for $30! We stayed here in our camper for 3 nights then had to check into an overpriced rv park ($80). Hopefully there is space when we return tonight!

Clean park, showers cleaned daily, I think it's 6 a night in a tent, 30-36 I think for campers, power night, expensive! Can only stay 3 days at a time, which is am inconvenience if your stay is longer! They are currently doing construction, addition it looks like to next to one of the bathrooms, and dump station. Hiking across the way from the park. Close drive to pg, ocean, can sometimes see the ocean view tru the trees and fog. I love the cool foggy weather, that we have at veterans most if the time. Nice clean park, just too expensive. But good for a short visit.

Camping: Worth its money. The campsites are beautiful, yet not level. The restrooms and showers are absolutely okay for a State Park like facility, there is hot water and a place to wash your dishes. Good choice for 1-2 nights in Monterey.
