The most beautiful play ground for all types of outdoor sports. Hiking, biking, trail riding, camping, snow shoeing, climbing, camping, star-gazing, and most of all waterfall viewing. You just have to be there to see it.

Lots of great summer hiking, camping and backpacking! Only a short drive from Portland, most of the hikes are pet friendly. There are tons of first come camping sites too!

Old commercial ski lodge now run by Forest Service, so not as glamorous as it once was and more of an historic site.  It looks like you can still rent rooms, ski and have special events there.   I was there only briefly for a view of Mt. Hood and not to ski.  There are more upscale, updated nearby areas to ski.  This is my brief, first time impression.

It had beautiful views and a magnificent lodge. Skiing opportunities even in June. The backside of the mountain had an awesome trail along a river or creek that led you to a beautiful​ falls.
