I had orthoscopic knee surgery on my right knee a couple years back. The pain and rare joint disease was the reason of me returning from serving an LDS mission. After surgery he suggested we do surgery on the other knee before receiving an MRI and knowing if the rare joint disease was in the other knee. Thankfully I visited a specialist at the U of U and learned that was not at all necessary. Post op was horrendous in my experience, no follow up, no PT no communication nothing. It wasn’t until I had done my own therapy for weeks and months of work to get strength and recover on my own that Dr Murray stepped in again denying to sign my doctors note to return to the mission field. Using harsh language and being inconsiderate of my hard work and his lack of committed care. I had to set the appointment to see him and he tried to defer to his practitioners there rather than talk to me. Although he did fine on the surgery I hope no one has to go through my type of experience again. I felt he was after my money not my care.

I had rotator cuff surgery from Dr. Murray. He took extra time to explain the process before the surgery. Since I had a conference presentation in Fez, Morocco shortly before the scheduled surgery, Dr. Murray gave me a cortisone shot so I could be without pain while I traveled, gave my presentation, and especially while I slept. Before and on the day of the surgery, Dr. Murray continued to answer my questions. After the surgery, I felt like he took extra care to again answer my questions and help me find a physical therapist who could help me recover the use of my arm and shoulder. I would recommend Dr. Murray to anyone needing rotator cuff surgery.

He did a knee operation on my wife and presumably did a respectable job. What soured the experience was the post-op appointment, where he was intolerant of our questions and used a pejorative term in reference to my wife. In the end, as we questioned him on the possibility of my wife participating in athletics, he literally lost his temper and shut down the visit. I guess when you visit Dr. Murray you must listen, but not speak; you must play Moses while he plays the burning bush.
