Story

The Museum of North Texas History is the only general history museum in Wichita Falls. We bring history to life through our exhibits, our programs and lectures, and the shared experiences of our staff and volunteers. We strive to show how our rich heritage built North Texas, how it is relevant to our lives today, and how it shows our potential for the future.

Reviews
The admission is free, but the doors are locked. Once we rang the doorbell we were quickly greeted by the museum curator who let us in and explained who they were and what the rooms held. He was courteous, knew the area well and suggested other sites and museums to visit later. The selection was very interesting, had a number of historical photos of Wichtia Falls and it's founding and other very interesting collections such as typewriters, war memorabilia and oil and gas displays.

A museum from another era that needs some attention. See the iron lung and the miniatures, but be prepared to be disappointed by many of the exhibits.
