About

The Arlington Museum of Art exists to champion creativity and provide access to art for the cultural enrichment and economic development of our community.

Story

The museum features exhibitions meant to inspire, challenge and educate our audiences. Additionally, we present a variety of companion programming that includes lecture series, poetry slams and Saturday workshops for both adults and children that are all designed to enhance the overall exhibit and present visitors with a more comprehensive experience. Exhibitions typically run from 3 months for our summer blockbusters, to 5 to 8 weeks for our smaller exhibits in the spring and fall.

This is a really, really neat little museum. We're not talking Guggenheim, here, but they always have a pretty cool showing along with a small but endearing permanent collection. If you are military - active or retired with card - admission is free. Truly, not a bad little place to visit.

Currently on exhibit are the photograph of Milton Greene. He was a very close friend of Marilyn Monroe. There are quite a few photos of her a well a photo of other famous people. Because of construction getting to the museum is a bit more difficult that usual. Best route it to take Cooper street to Main street, then go east. The museum is on your left.

Besides an interesting art museum they also offer children's art classes. The local school district has a large show of student art there each year that is very impressive. The shows change out on a regular basis usually spotlighting individual artists. Free to the public. Check for current shows and hours. Located in downtown Arlington.

Great exhibit. Would have preferred not to have a guide, but he was a nice guy and knew his stuff. Terrific time. :)

Adorable little art shop. My 13 year old is an artist and we come from a very small town. She enjoyed seeing the art of other children her age!
