Center is an apartment on 3rd floor where Qibla is suspiciously  aligned with floor plans.  I agree with brother below that this place is unwelcoming. I think is all has to do with the person in charge. Very angry, high tempered and ill-mannered individual. Allah knows best but I think he has his personal agenda for running this center other than make a place for worship.  He's very rude and does the opposite of what he preaches, he talks about things that he very much lacks knowledge about. Dare to disagree with him or advice him and he will make a scene, ban you from the center and then next day will come and slander you after Zuhur when you aren't there. Urgent and ignorant, worst two characteristics too coexist. I don't advise going there unless no other alternatives. I think center is closing end of June, 2017 and I strongly believe is for best. May Allah provide us with better alternatives.

MaashaAllah, polarization started. Sisters from the same regions backing up each other. We've seen it all b4. But true muslims know no regions. I'm surprised some think only imaam or a leader is to exhibit cool mindedness, quiet, unable to respond to noone (timid) all the time while the rest of mankind are allowed to humiliate him (under literally banner) and arrogantly breach the protocol of ethics. Who did that to UMAR (RA)?. Why you think ABUBAKAR (RA) fought Harburriddah? Why those 3 tribes were expelled from medina? And so on. You think bcos he's imaam he should allow haraam demands unrevealed? We all must be vigilant. Fitnah can be hidden under the rug (even by your own friend whose only concern is more for we; not enough for us). Go meet the president of our country right now or 2 years ago and lay down ur demands or else you'll impeach him, and see what the secret service do to you, cos of your ethical blunder. WHO CALLS OUT PRIOR TO EVERY IQAAMAH FOR BROTHERS TO "TOE" TO GIVE SPACE FOR SISTERS TO PASS (OUT OF LOVE) TO THE EXTENT THAT SOME WISH HE DOESN'T KEEP SAYING IT. SUCH ENERGY DEVOTION TO SISTERS' COMFORT IS SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER SEEN IN ANY LOCAL & NON LOCAL MASAAJID. Then how come only women have access to the toilet while men have to find other ways! How come we stop all men at the exit the moment a sister shows up? How come that we so lower our heads down while giving dates and keys to the sisters to the extent that sundus now accuse us of being too shy or timid! Why didn't you tell the brother to give you the date if he forgot or didn't see you. Remember sister, how your dissatisfaction (whatever we do) has been mentioned in sunnah. Excuse me my respectable sisters out there. It's not about you. It's about the very tiny click who wants to bring the "fall" after the "spring" failed using same google in Egypt and elsewhere. Any sister who has concern can easily come forward (like the brothers do; i personally ask questions on deen virtually everyday. And I always leave satisfied. It's so easy, as long as you know the Muslim ethics) with manners and you will be very happy with the answers. Fitnah will not succeed here, in shaaAllah. Try it. If you do not care about: (1) Men lowering their gaze when giving dates to a sister; breach of sunnah. (2) About our rent and contributions. (3) You backbite and slanders (i.e eating the flesh of your brother -hadeeth). (4) You want men to pass front of praying sisters by demanding the curtain be removed. (5) You don't care about akhlaaq. Then, DO NOT COME TO THE CENTER. WE DON'T NEED NEW YORK SPRING OR FALL. The breeze of the dajjaal will blow first b4 him. Guys, be like lukmaan's son: Do not raise your anf; will you reach the height of the mountain; or will you be able to penetrate the earth? Don't say I know it all. Remember khidir and Moses (AS). Throw away your emotions. Get rid of your pride and conquer yourself. Pride is very alluring, deceptive, destructive. Just remember iblees. Talk about our unsurpassed charities worldwide. It takes sahaabah's approach to get it all done. DO NOT PLAY WITH THE MESSAGE. THE MESSAGE IS AMAANAH. MUST BE DELIVERED AS IS , ELSE YOU ANSWER TO THAT DAY OF JUDGMENT. Stop looking for petted flexibilities. Wallaahul Musta'an.

Its true the sisters in this masjid are not recognized. The sisters are afraid to speak up because the imam is very rude when he makes friday lectures. Last week the imam called out the sister in front of everyone who wanted to set up a meeting to talk about our concerns. The imam has to stop talking about the brothers and sisters during friday prayers. If he has a problem he should speak to the person directly and not make an announcement during friday prayers. May Allah always protect us from the act of hypocrisy.

my brothers attitude remind me the hypocrite during the time of prophet muhammad (PBUH). when companions (ra) used to be charitable and enthusiastic towards the command of prophet (PBUH) they used to mock and say "He has a different agenda"........and try to portray their own self as people who deserve the leadership of the society so at the end they can misguide the believers, how can a muslim think that closing a mosque or islamic center will serve the best interest for muslim around there who most likely to pray their 2- 3 prayers and jummah there? even if you have different of opinion from the imam being a muslim you cannot expect for something like this, either a hypocrite or a very unwise person can think like that. now it is your choice how you want to think yourself as........!!!! i as a muslim will think that you are an unwise person. everyone who comes here they need to abide by those people who is incharge. Allah said " obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if disagreement among you , then refer it to Allah and the Messenger" (quran 4:59). and i have seen the man (imam) as an honest person who will not just say whatever he wants, rather i have seen him to stand by truth. But most amazing thing is when you brothers don't want to comply with rules and regulation then he has to be tough. And when you face him in that manner then you try to give such and such excuse, beating around the bush in the social media Here you pray to Allah in complete peace and tranquility ,not distracted, nor irritated by noises from cell phones, chats, muslim-to-muslim arguments - fighting each other with for silly things. This peaceful atmosphere is made possible by one man (the imam) and his dedicated admin who plead repeatedly to worshipers to adhere to the building owner's etiquette and rules as well as our deen's best etiquettes. I ask brothers to repent & stop spreading lies about the imam and the mosque,,,,and give us the hand of unification and pray for this beautiful center to grow and expand. but if you brothers doesn't want to change your attitude then i ask Allah to keep you in this path up until you meet him on the Day of judgment where Allah will honor those who strived for his deen and humiliate those who strived against his deen. And Allah is the source of all Strength....

The Muslims who wrote the Negative comments about The Muslim Center of Manhattan should be ashamed of your self... I seen with my own eyes The leader of that place help tons of people ! Muslim and none Muslim . Allah Speaks of people like you and the Holy Qur'an who think that they are better than some one else. For example Habil And Qabil , Both Muslim , Two brothers at that. But one believed that he was better ! For what ever reason. And for the brother who made the comment on the recital of the iman ! Dame brother you are dead wrong for that. I am a new muslim and I have a Difficult time Pronouncing Certain Words . Remember the Black Companion of The Prophet peace and blessing be on Him ,was made fun of because he had difficulty pronouncing certain words . SO My BROTHERS MAKE THE PROPER ADJUSTMENTS TO YOUR HEARTS AND LET ALLAH BE THE JUDGE.
