For being my first apartment, it has been an unpleasant experience. This past week being the coldest week Nebraska has experienced I had no heat in my apartment. In -32-degree weather I had NO HEAT. I called and emailed numerous times and get minimal help and response. I would recommend you look somewhere else to live where they care about you as a tenant. Can't wait until my lease is over.
We have had very mixed feelings about this company. Some months are good while other months not so much. Our first apartment through RIS was good, at first. Then slowly starting getting worse. So we moved to another place the RIS owns. And that place, with it being more space, was really bad. I’ve never had so many problems living in a place for one year. Edit: I also do want to point out too, at our first apartment when we moved out, we cleaned that place so damn much and made it spotless, just to be charged our entire deposit for “cleaning”. This company is a joke.
Dang can't add a zero star. Not only is the secretary rude but a liar. But very quick to claim your application moneys. The apartment was nice, probably one that's set up to take a unlimited amount of application frees. I hope others have better luck
In response to kablah renee's review: I am the former tenant and her coworker that she is referring to. If you would like me to share a review from my personal experience, I would be happy to share it. My experience was terrible. Response time was bad, and sometimes I would get no response at all. I would call and be hung up on several times when I was put on "hold". My roommate and I were essentially forced out of our duplex when RIS decided to sell the property and not tell us. There was no communication about this unless we bugged them time and time again. We literally found a lockbox outside of our door for people to view the property when we were not home and were not informed or warned by RIS. I have nothing but bad things to say. It is blatantly obvious they do not care about their tenants at all. They said it themselves: "There is a lot that goes in to property management and the legality of managing property for other people who own it. We do stand up for our owners while upholding landlord/tenant law." What is most important to them is their owners, and not the tenants themselves. 0/5 stars. 0/10 do not recommend. Do not use this rental company.
I have lived in my apartment for almost 3 years with a different management, then ris took over management and I ended up getting evicted. They acted like they wanted to work with me because I got behind due to Covid but then evicted me out. I’m a single mom with my daughter life is tuff and they seem to not understand.
I was looking on marketplace on FB & there was an apartment this company handles that takes an Section 8, LHA, Housing.. I made an appointment to look & the person showing it was prompt in giving me a response.. asking to reschedule and I also got a picture message about what they will or will not be able to do as far as being transparent in letting a person know that these are the restrictions or exceptions to be approved after application.. it saved both people time and money and though I don't rent from the company, I was treated with respect and honesty. That's why I'm leaving a review. Transparent companies deserve recognition. Thanks RIS
Not a good experience. Very slow with their processing. Wasted 100 on their application fees just to be denied anyway. Wasted value time and money. Im actually glad I was turned down. If they take that long to process and jerk you around that much I can't imagine how long it would be concerning repairs or maintenance issues. I've been told by others that they're not good landlords
This place is very helpful and they're extremely willing to listen to you. I'm happy renting from them and they're very understanding when you have a problem, and they've given good service when needed for me. In response to the Reply: Of course! You guys are the first people I've ever rented from and I've had nothing but positive things here. The neighbors are nice, the location is convenient and I've had no problems with my unit.
We really enjoyed the house we were wanting to rent. We weren't happy that we had to pay the deposit up front for them to even look at our application but we did it because we really loved the property. They neglected to tell us and neglected to put on their website that your cosigner has to have FIVE TIMES the rent. The rent itself was $1550 so that means our cosigner would need to make approximately 93k a year!!!! If we had a cosigner with that income we would not be renting!!! Absolutely disappointed and waste of our time. 0/10 Do not recommend if you need a cosigner.
Worst place to rent from in Lincoln, NE. My boyfriend rented from RIS and will NEVER again. Jennifer is incredibly rude see responses from other complaints on here and will not answer or return your call if needed. Tried to charge an extra months rent when a proper notice was given 30 days. He simply asked one month if he had any credit to his account and she replied with a rude, snarky response and ZERO help logging onto the portal. It is VERY clear she is miserable and hates her job. Please steer clear from this company who just wants to take advantage of people during an already trying time. There is a good reason this place only has 1.5 rating.
