If my interaction w/ officer N. Rhodes is indicative of the rest of NBPD's force, then that small town is in dire straits. Rhodes' was arrogant & smelled of heavy cigar smoke, very unprofessional & not helpful in any capacity.

NBPD officer Nick Rhodes is a smug,overbearing jerk. What LEO hop out of their patrol car puffing on a cigar then speaking to citizens w/ smoke bellowing from his mouth ? Outlandish behavior.

I called to get assistance for a friend in New Bern NC from San Antonio TX when he was stranded in 15 degree weather by himself with nothing but a sleeping bag. The New Bern Police Department would not assist and was not interested in assisting one of its citizens. I recommend to anyone visiting North Carolina to stay away from here. The Police in New Bern NC forgot the "Protect" part of the motto. The Police love to do things in the public eye to show their good side but when a citizen who really needs help is ignored this is why people have a bad taste in their mouth about the Police. What a disgrace and waste of tax dollars.
