This place has a great, casual atmosphere and is a fun place to celebrate birthdays. We like being part of their birthday club which offers free drinks/soda in a nice glass mug you get to keep on your bday as well as a free burger and tiny sundae. We used to come here often, but always seemed to have terrible, unfriendly and downright rude servers and bartenders which ended up creating negative experiences out of our visits here. Additionally, the prices are on the high end for the food you get. I don't care for their fries and although they're known for their burgers, I'm not sure why, as the patty is so thin and the bun is huge, making for a flavorless bites that taste like bun. Their outdoor patio is nice, with a good amount of seating and TVs- wish the food, service, and prices would be better so we could enjoy it more.

I was in town for business (March 19th) and had lunch at the Nitty Gritty, unfortunately it was not my birthday for if it was I would have had some balloons put on the table. 

It was not very busy (11:30 - 12:30) and the service was prompt and efficient. Our courteous server ensured me that the Blue and Black Burger, that I ordered medium-rare, "a little pink in the middle" would be served as ordered. They are the home of the "Worlds best Hamburger" (made me think of the Elf movie.

Alas, it was not to be (grey as the dawn the burger was) but it was a working lunch so I ate half of it and we had to go. The burger was good, just a little dry for my taste. I rounded out my order with coleslaw and ice tea.

I will most likely never eat there again but only because I will probable not have an opportunity, however, if I did I would give them a second chance.

We always have a good time at the Nitty Gritty in Sun Prairie. Called in the morning to tell them that we would be arriving with 20-25 people in two hours. They had an area and waitress ready for us. Food and drinks were tasty. Service was very good. We'll be back!

We had a birthday party there and it was great. The prices are a little high but that's the same no matter where you go. Good service. Its large enough to serve large groups.

Great place to have a birthday party, if you are celebrating your birthday, it is known as the birthday place. Free drinks that are on tap and a birthday mug. They also have good food and wait staff. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and happy to assist in whatever way they can.
