I walked into the downtown Seattle Nordstrom on a very cold and windy day. I mainly wanted to go inside to purchase a scarf as I had not brought one on my trip and needed some neck warmth, stat! Lucky me, I walked into the accessories area and found my way perusing through the tables of scarves. I was quickly helped by an associate who noticed my southern accent right away. She, too, was from the southeast so we bonded quickly. She helped me with different ways of wearing the scarves and introduced me to the Michael Kors infinity scarf, which was amazing! I purchased it, along with a cashmere Nordstrom scarf. I continued around the store, it being the flagship Nordstrom, there were plenty of items in stock of all designer brands. The selections of each item were much larger than I am accustomed to in the NC store. The store was immaculate, staff were genuinely hospitable, and of course, the restrooms were elegant and so nice that I actually spent a few minutes in the sitting area outside to gather my belongings before venturing back onto the cold streets of downtown Seattle. Very nice, Nordstrom Seattle, very nice!

This Nordstrom is way awesome. I appreciate the kindness of staff in each department and how helpful everyone is. The personal shoppers are really good and knowledgeable on trends and provide candid advice on what looks good on you and what doesn't. The restaurant on the bottom floor has good food, but it is over priced, and the service in there is just average, a few steps above fast food. I'd eat elsewhere in the future. The Cuban gentleman who shines shoes, he is super cool and does an awesome job.

This is a good store that’s clean, recently remodeled and with a spacious and comfortable layout. I highly recommend it for your makeup, clothing and shoe needs. It offers a variety of brands and the salespeople are kind, encouraging and helpful. I highly recommend it but be sure to bring lots of money because the great things to purchase may lead to an impromptu shopping spree!!!

The downtown location is very good. Being the flagship, it is updated, the food is great, spa on the top floor, and great personal shoppers. May, a top specialist and "all star" in men's clothing (suits,tuxes,sport coats), is amazing. She is knowledgeable and really can customize to your needs and budget. Also, Sidney, in men's designer, is great to work with as well. He is also knowledgeable and will help with whatever you need. For kids clothing, Nordstrom bellevue... Carol is another "all star" and is incredible. One of our family's favorite people!!

This place kicked me out for trying on make up in the make up department? No one came to me to ask if I was okay or needed anything, I even asked permission before trying anything on. A security guard came up to me and told me I needed to leave as soon as I was done. I have been shopping for job interviews and was going to purchase their products, a lipstick and a foundation, and also wanted to play around and put on a full face for later consideration. I feel discriminated against and think the staff should be reprimanded or fired. I think anyone else would have felt just as offended in the situation. I guess if you want to try on make up before making a purchase you better go to a different full try on centered cosmetics department because the staff were rude, awkward, non confronting and will just kick you out without confronting you. No matter what you wear or you dye your hair, you are just a cowardly, racist as in unnaccepting of other cultures, closed minded & shrewd person at heart. I'm talking about the elderly staff with pink hair and the stupidly bright outfit. Poser!
