Have been seeing Dr. Abbott for 3 years for diabetes and hyperthyroidism. She is a great doctor, she is honest, knowledgeable and a great asset to the Reno area. The Office staff is very helpful and attentive to all your needs whether on the phone or in person in the office. If you follow Dr. Abbott 's instructions and medication doses you will be very happy with your results. If you are not interested in being healthier and getting on the right road to improved health don't go to Dr. Abbott she will tell you when you are not a true participant in your own health goals. She will always work with you but she is honest and will work with you always to make your plan for better health easier to accomplish for you. Her physician assistants she has in her office are the best and they work together with Dr. Abbott  as a team. What the PA knows Dr. Abbott knows and follows up on everything as a team.

I'm not sure how anyone could have a negative comment about Dr. Abbott; she definitely is a knowledgeable provider and when I went to her in 2007, she was actually the "ONLY" provider who ever took the time to do an Ultrasound on my Thyroid, but she then spent considerable time discussing my condition with me personally. Also, since my original visit with her I have gone back and completed my own Medical Degree as well. I can assure you, from a clinical AND professional view point, Dr. Abbott "IS", a very knowledgeable, caring and empathetic physician. I'm guessing any negative comments come from those who either don't listen to her advice, OR will NOT follow her instructions. A doctor can only guide a patient, not shadow them 24 hours a day.

I have only seen Dr. Abbott a couple times now. So far she has done more for me then my previous doctor who I saw for 4 years. I really like her and would definitely recommend her.

I would not recommend Dr. Abbott. I have been going to her for almost a year for hypothyroidism that hasn't improved. I'm done paying her to tell me "I don't know how to help you." And looking at me like I'm crazy. All she needed to do was her job. Be a doctor and do the research. All I wanted was for her to figure out an alternative, since what we were doing wasn't working. I don't believe she likes her job or her patients. I am finding a new doctor and I feel like that's what she wanted from the beginning.

I definitely would not use Dr. Abbott as any doctor. For your first visit, the office staff charges $255 and then you never see the doctor, but see the P.A., (Physician's Assistant). If you travel a long way, as I did, how disappointing to wait and be seen for 15 mins. only to be told to come back because the Lab tech. only comes in on Tuesdays. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.  No stars.
