Story

*Dr. Mary Grabowski*

Dr. Mary Grabowski received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2008 from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine with a special interest in exotic and wildlife medicine. She has extensive experience in Exotic Animal Medicine including birds, reptiles, small mammals and wildlife. She is licensed to treat and rehabilitate community injured wildlife. One of her future goals is to become a diplomat of American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Avian Medicine.

Her exotic and wildlife training includes a one month exotic externship at the University of Tennessee in the exotic and wildlife program, a month at the University of Minnesota at the Minnesota Raptor Center, and worked at a private exotic animal hospital in Chicago from 2008-2010 with extensive training in avian, reptile, and small mammal medicine. She worked for Westgate Veterinary Center from 2010 until 2012 and transitioned with The Whole Pet until the present (2013) doing cat, dog, and exotics medicine. She also worked part-time for Ness Exotic Wellness Center for the past 6 months focusing on exotics.

She is an active member in several organizations including: Association of Avian Veterinarians, American Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, and actively participates in local area exotic veterinarian meetings.

Dr. Grabowski is married to husband, Nathan and has a baby daughter, Arya. They share their house with seven animals including one dog (Scout), two cats (Meeshka & Oscar), and four birds (Rose-breasted Cockatoo- JoJo, Sun Conure- Remi, Green-cheek- Kiwi, and Eclectus- Tuga).
