This place is just old. Trying to update to modern amenities while holding onto the good old days isn't going to work. Either be a modern retro version of your old self or become something entirely new; you can't have it both ways. Rosie's diner is pretty legit. The Rooms are affordable and even with the executive room I had, it was definitely a budget room.

In a former life I worked here. I have since moved out of state. The place has changed a lot. Not sure what the direction the current ownership is looking for. The rooms have been updated.  It looks the the updates were on a tight budget. We ate at Rosies, which was not bad. This current visit we ate at the buffet. Spent $85 for 2 adults and 2 children. Terrible. I can't believe how bad the quality has deteriorated. It was never great, but now it's awful. I have always tried to patronize the Nugget out of a sense of loyalty maybe. No more. There was only cold prime rib at the carving station, and shrimp scampi. The rest of the menu was poor. Salad area was decent. The staff was friendly, but the quality is just not there like it was in the past. I probably will be back due to affordability, and one of few casinos with an indoor pool. Once my children have grown, I doubt I'll ever be back.

We almost always stay at the Nugget when we go to Reno. The upgraded rooms are really nice and the kids love the arcade and indoor pool. I love the spa and the fact that they have a gym. We always eat at Rosie's cafe (we weren't impressed with the rotisserie buffet to be honest) and the chicken noodle soup is awesome. They also have a nice selection of desserts. The Nugget always has the best priced rooms for a major casino. Definitely worth the stay.

It is kids friendly resort because of its indoor pool. The hotel was packed with families. Casino was ok guess Sierra and Atlantis are better. The hotel rooms were clean but the elevator took forever while check out almost 30 minutes to get one. So better checkout much before 11 am. Overall a pleasant stay.

The nugget has always been fun for me and my family. Whether it's going to hit the slots, or taking the kids to the arcade. Great food with several restaurants to choose from, as well as a good night club too. Overall, a good casino in Reno to visit. The rooms are nice too.
