First class restaurant with nice atmosphere but not attentive to filling water glasses.

Steak was good.  Snapper was too spicy.  Jalapeno grits were spicier than flavorful.  Potato gratin had too much garlic.  Food presentation was nice but flavor was lacking for what you would expect with the high prices.

We found this amazing restaurant on our way home from the cruise. it was a perfect end to our wonderful week.  The waitstaff were remarkably thoughtful, the food carefully prepared, with house crafted dressings and sauces that paired perfectly with the foods.  The wine list is extensive!  The restaurant sits on the water and I don't think there is a bad table in the house.  We had house salad, French onion soup and the cold seafood platter for 2 (The Amazing Grace) and we savored every bite.  It brought back memories of the seafood restaurant we loved in Paris❤❤ Well done Number 13, we will be back!

Best steak in town. If you get there in time sit at the bar and enjoy the company and conversations of the locals. The drinks are good and the bartenders are very attentive

If you want the best food and service in Galveston Number 13 is the place to go. You will pay a price for excellence, but it is money well spent.

Wonderful first time experience. We came during Restaurant Week in Galveston and sampled a full three course meal for $35 - a steal considering what we ordered!

Food: all-around all-stars! started off with a doughy pepper/cheese puff pastry and salted butter. Moved onto the 13 Rockefeller oyster appetizers, which were flavorful and had a really delicious spinach garnish. Had the Beef Wellington as main course, cooked medium rare (they lean towards the rare side - the center was cool pink rather than the warm pink expected) with a small accompaniment of mashed potatoes and green beans - this was probably the best Beef Wellington I've ever had. Ended with a cute molten lava cake paired with strawberries and vanilla bean gelato. Everything was portioned well, and the textures were delicate and complementary. They are especially deft with puff pastry.

Service: I am a stickler for good service, and my waitress Justyne was probably one of the most prompt, courteous servers I've met in my life. She was on the ball, super responsive and helpful without coming off as disruptive or hovering. She managed an exceptionally neat trick of somehow appearing with a refill at the exact moment that my cup hit empty (and well before I noticed that my cup was empty). I am so impressed by the management and waitstaff!

Ambience/décor: Galveston is an island, and No 13 happily embraces it in seashell table centerpieces and gorgeous views of the ocean. The lighting is soft in the evening without getting that grungy-dark look that some less illuminated restaurants get. It's decidedly upper scale without feeling snobbish, which is lovely considering how sophisticated their menu options and waitstaff are. A beautiful place to get dinner with a friend or on date night :)

Would absolutely recommend! And definitely an A+ choice during Restaurant Week!
