Story

Conceptualized by Chloe Chen, the OMG brand was created to deliver excellent nail care and spa treatments in the South Loop of Chicago. OMG delivers expert care and service in an enjoyable and relaxing environment. Chloe has seven years of experience as a business woman in the salon and spa industry.

With a relaxed and social atmosphere, the mission of OMG is to bring customers high quality nail and spa care at an affordable price. Our salon and staff will make you feel comfortable and taken care of during your visit. We stock a wide range of nail care products including ZOYA, the world's longest wearing natural nail polish and nail care treatments.

This is my favorite nail salon in my neighborhood! The regular manicure is a little more expensive than your standard, but it includes a shoulder/neck massage. They always do a great job, and the salon is clean and nice.

No stars for this place. My first and last visit here. I don't like doing reviews good or bad but this place moved me to action. I apologize this is long but I have to get it ALL out. 2 weeks ago I scheduled a Wednesday appt for myself and my friend, a dip and pedicure. Long story short my friend who was my ride couldn't make it. After pushing the time back once I rescheduled our appt. for Friday, 5:30 pm that week. It is common courtesy to call if you're going to be late or not show. Friday I called 5 1/2 hours before our appt. to add 1 more friend for services. I was told "yes, no problem". I asked if we could move the appt up to 4:30 pm. Again, "sure no problem". I said really? She said "yes 4:30 pm". Each time I talked to Chloe for both Wednesday and Friday appts. at 4:15 pm Chloe called and asked if I was on my way. I thought this was odd but I said yes we are on the way. 4:30 pm exactly Chloe called back and said she will have to reschedule my appt. We are now literally parked right in front of the shop and I'm still on the phone talking to her as we walked in. She yelled "you already changed your appt. many times". I said what are you talking about you just called me. Chloe now says we can be served but not until 5:00 pm. Fine but we're upset as this is both of my friends first dip and I have bragged about this service for months. 2 MINUTES later Chloe says 2 of us can be served right now. Wow. Really? So I have my friends go first. 10 MINTUES later they are ready for me, smh. We received our pedicures first. Each of us had 2 techs each, that's when one of the techs told me Chloe had double booked. And that's why we had to deal with Chloe's rude & nasty behavior? Next our nails. While my old dip soaked off, 2 other ppl came in and apologized for being "so late" for their appts. No problems for them though. A big problem was that each of our dips was done differently which was really strange. One with the uv lamp throughout, the other used the uv lamp at the end and mine with no uv lamp which is the correct dip process. For those of you who don't know, the uv lamp is NOT needed for the dip process. Once the dipping process is completed, the topcoat is put on and you sit for about 5-10 minutes and your nails are completely hard and dry when you leave the shop, just like a no-chip but harder. My sister and I had our first dip at Skokie Nails & Spa in November where they did an AMAZING job. In addition to 1 more time at Skokie I dipped this year in Texas at Pamper Nails. They also did a fantastic job. Each time our nails lasted between 4-6 weeks before one single nail cracked, chipped or broke off. It was in the 7th week from my Texas service. My friend whose service at OMG took the longest lost a whole dip polish on the following Tuesday. Wednesday her and her husband headed out of town to celebrate their anniversary so no time to return for repair. My nails started chipping and breaking later that week and my other friend sent me a picture of her chipped nail at the beginning of the 2nd week (last week). OMG IS NOT WORTH THE HIGHER PRICES THEY CHARGE.

Love the upscale atmosphere & massages that are included with nail services. The complimentary beverages are a bonus as well. The experience is definitely worth the money.

I would give a zero if I could. I had scheduled two mani/pedis for 6pm. When we showed up they had us scheduled for the wrong day. The girl at the desk was beyond rude, first insinuating we made the mistake then her facial expressions, eye rolls, and tone solidified that my friend and I will never be going there again. We asked politely asked if they could fit us in and they said no and never took responsibility for their mistake. Even if they were full they should have made some sort of gesture that they were apologetic for the mishap. Instead we were treated as if it was our fault with a sarcastic “sooorry” thrown out there. We went down the street to another salon where they were accommodating and kind to us.

This salon is pretty cool they carry zoya polish which I used to go to Revive in Wicker Park to get. I'm happy to have a closer option in the neighborhood. Sammi has done a great job with starting on time, being patient and professional. I only give 4 stars because I don't like their payment system. Booking online requires you to pay in advance, when I attempted this route it failed. Ultimately, I had to call in to book the appointment. If you tip on your card you have to pay a service charge. Additionally, you have to tell your technician what you're tipping them and that creates an uncomfortable pressure. Overall if you're in the neighborhood give them a try. I just recommend bringing cash.
