We weren't sure if they were going to try and sell us fish or drugs. Shady place if I've ever seen one. If it weren't for a particular aquatic critter that we have been searching for, they wouldn't have a dime of my money. Both times we've been in here, we were very disappointed. Just spent 30 minutes in the store and waited very patiently for someone, anyone to offer assistance. Young lady was on her phone the entire time we were in there. I had to go retrieve her! When she did speak, she was very short and unfriendly. We will not be back. But if your goal is to score some crack or heroine....

I hope I visited on a bad day. Most aquariums were partially filled and not circulating. This is a recipe for foul odors and unsanitary conditions. The hamsters and other rodent-type pets did not all have exercise wheels. Those who were fortunate enough to get one had the cruel variety made of bars or mesh. No one can run with feet constantly going through their running surface. As a result many of that variety pet was overweight. They were also housed with wood shavings for bedding. Wood shavings react with urine (of course the cages lacked litter trays) and the chemicals released cause respiratory issues. After seeing first the fish then the hamsters I was ready to leave. However my husband noticed a fenced area and I successfully identified the creature within as a wallabe. It approached us looking friendly enough but then from the register area we heard, quite nonchalantly, "careful, he will tear you up." There was nothing to protect children or heaven forbid, a quick toddler from slipping into the enclosure if their parents are not diligently watching them and the employees are busy. They had baby emus, which were fascinating, but housed in wood shavings in a cage so small they could barely stand, much less exercise their baby legs. I am surprised the neighboring community has not insisted on better conditions at their local pet store. The place made me sad. Again, I hope it was an off day. With a little research the owners could make some major improvements for the animals at little or no cost. I did not enter the reptile room, but my husband said it seemed better than other areas. Perhaps they could consider specializing in reptiles? I always wish for the best in people so I hope the poor conditions result from a lack of knowledge rather than laziness or choice. I hope someone who lives in the area can visit repeatedly and get improvements made for the sake of every animal, big or small, living there. They have the size at that facility, mostly unused space, to make improvements and turn things around for the better. I wish them the wisdom and health needed to determine and do what is right.

I was told at the beginning of my pet research that this store would have no problem getting the lizard I was looking for. I was excited but hesitant because one employee was telling me how the lizard can eat rats if they get big enough which is totally not true. The lizard is a straight up herbivore minus the occasional worm or cricket. I was told I just had to call when they put their orders in and give my information. I was told I would get a call back and when I didn't receive the call, I called them only to be informed they couldn't get it. They told me to call next time they order. I called every week for 6 weeks before I finally gave up. Had I known they weren't going to be able to get the lizard I was looking for i would have held off longer on not getting the cage set up and not stocked up on supplies. I now have this huge cage, supplies, and still no lizard. I held off on purchasing elsewhere because it would have to be shipped. Now that I'm desperate for a lizard the other shops have sold off their last lizards.
