The place is small.  But the customer service was good.  I wanted to eat in but the upstairs was too small.  Need larger space.  The cashier was very nice as well as the young man who wanted to seat us upstairs was very positive and apologetic.  We decided to take out.  The food was good.  I will come back for the take out.  I liked the fact that their seemed to be a positive disposition between the workers and I liked that they greeted us with a smile.

Long time staple in DC, small old soul food location. Don't plan to sit order to go snd enjoy at home. Big portions.  Glad to see its still on U street busy corridor. Would love to see it expand to full service, but if its not broke..... price point $$. Parking is difficult so have a strategy. If you eating afyer a night on U street expect crowds it after party comfort food.

Excellent food. We got the greens, Mac n cheese, wings, shrimp, grits and sweat potato. All was excellent and worth the wait. It's not obvious, but there is dining upstairs if you do not want to get the food to go. Highly recommend the wings though, the batter was excellent and had perfect seasoning. Lunch time special prices were very reasonable as well.

Very disappointed with the restaurant owners opening a "new" restaurant without the CAPITOL to cover payroll. When it comes to their employees, they have a "I don't care attitude." Sadly many companies are not willing to invest or take the time to train employees but expect them to perform at the best. Most people I have talked to say they have never received full training. It's always an expedited process. If you want people to do a good job. Train them well. Make sure they are in a function where they can use their significant skills and support them. Many organizations are too quick to fire employees when they are the ones at fault. Letting people go around the holiday time due to the budget, is just poor planning. May GOD forgive you!

Soul food at its finest. The mac and cheese is cheesy and good like homemade. The fried fish is my favorite. A cool spot for hot soul food.
