My experience at this location as well as the Baldwin Park/Orlando facility have been excellent. I'm amazed at how nice the Lake Nona VA Hospital turned out. I feel very fortunate to have access to both facilities. I'm very grateful for all services rendered. The physicians, nurses and staff have been very professional & attentive. They seem genuinely concerned about my well being. In addition they've helped my achieve my goals both physically and mentally. The scope of my experience at both locations range from Primary care with Dr. George, All radiology staff, Dr. Green in Podiatry/Prognostics, as well as cardiology. I accompanied my husband to his dermatology appointment on June 20th, 2017. We arrived early and we were admitted by the nurse practitioner who basically ran the entire appointment, with the exception of the 30 second doctor appearance, where this nurse practitioner informed the doctor of her diagnosis, and then shuffled the doctor out of the examination room. My issue with this entire experience is it is hard enough for me to get my husband to go to his doctors’ appointments, without having a nurse practitioner act as though the patient is wasting the hospital’s time. More than once she commented that she couldn't believe that they sent this, to them, meaning my husband’s main doctor referring his irregular mole to see the dermatologist. When I commented that it was better safe than sorry, the nurse practitioner replied "No", hand me pamphlets on different skin lesions, and my impression was that in the future we should just self-diagnose, until we came up with something that was closer to skin cancer, because that was what I was informed that they treated at this hospital.

Great construction and building but that is not everything. Ophthalmology clinic looks like a limbo trying to make and get an appointment. On the other hand, behavioral health is excellent with treatment and follow ups.

The staff were friendly and helpful. They always answered questions to the best of their ability while always being mindful of family members feelings. I cant sing their praises enough. i think people underestimate the power of a VA hospital and its effects on morale. I am sure my father will be so proud in heaven knowing his service mattered and he had an avenue reserved just for him and other men and women just like him!! Job well done!! and thank you!

A beautiful facility wasted on marginal to pathetic medical providers. Especially beware of DR. RAMSEY KINNEY, M. D., the facility's only orthopedic surgeon--- A fact which I learned directly from this doctor today. He holds this exulted position despite the fact that he was only first licensed to practice medicine in June 2015 according to the Georgia State Board of Medicine. This doctor is not board-certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties nor has he been licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida. Despite these facts he is replacing joints, undertaking complex surgeries, and is the end-all be-all for orthopedic surgical care-- what's more, he holds himself out, on his website, as being an expert in orthopedic surgery and general orthopedic surgery, though he lacks the credentials necessary for a medical doctor to claim such expertise. You have been warned.
