What a disaster! I would give them a negative 5 if i could. They lied to us on 2 different occasions. After the 1st adjustment our pet couldn't take 2 steps without falling down. The pamphlet was designed impress you with their knowledge, completely useless as far as sharing info on how to put the device on the pet. I did a youtube search to see if i could get a better idea on how to put the device on and came across a mypetsbrace video from a vet in Pennsylvania. He has 3 straps instead of 5 velcro straps that get caught on each other. He explains it in English. And his top strap is elastic to work with the change in muscle size. As far as our interaction with Orthopets, it would have been a much better experience if the owner had just stolen my wallet.

I had an ACL injury 26 years ago, and have used a custom knee brace ever since. I switched to an off-loader knee brace for more than a decade to keep playing soccer. I am no stranger to orthotic devices and understand the value of them. That said, I deeply regret purchasing a device from Orthopets for my border collie. I was sold on all the great things she'd be able to do once she had the device and had adjusted to it. None of this has occurred. The device makes her right leg a "peg leg" with limited mobility, and seems to exacerbate other problems instead of correcting them. I spent $1800 that would have been far better used for other rehabilitation treatments instead. As a retired school teacher on a fixed income, this is not an insignificant amount of money for me. In essence, it represents resources that would have been much better spent on treatments such as cold laser, chiropractics, and rehab swimming--resources that will be delayed or denied to my pet because of financial limitations, and these are treatments that I've seen give her a lot more help than this device ever has or ever will. I'm glad to read reviews that indicate pets have been helped. My recommendation to anyone considering a device from Orthopets is to look at alternative treatments first, and have a trusted vet make the recommendation when all else fails. If the device does not help your pet, you will receive very limited support and then they'll wipe their hands of you.

Our Big Ben - large shepherd/lab mix - lost a back foot to cancer, and we didn't want to see his quality of life diminished. My husband found OrthoPets online and recommended that our vet surgeon help us fit Bennie for the prosthetic. The vet loved it and videotaped him using it to show it to other families. Bennie was able to continue his long walks, and we were glad to have him able to use all four of his legs. The videotaping and casting system worked well in fitting him - even from Atlanta - and we really liked working with the staff at OrthoPets. If you are looking to extend the quality of your pet's life with a prosthetic, we suggest you contact this company. They're terrific!

My Great Dane, Bandit, fractured her leg and it wasn't healing because she puts so much torque on her long bones... and she wouldn't lie still for several months to let it heal. After a full year and several surgeries, the the fracture was still not healing, I finally got an OrthoPets splint custom made to meet her needs. A team of specialists at OrthoPets collaborated with my vet to decide what was appropriate, given the type and location of her fracture. The OrthoPets people were really awesome throughout the process - helpful, attentive, responsive, and super knowledgeable. After 3 months with the brace, Bandit finally had enough healing at the fracture to be allowed out of the brace. OrthoPets has awesome people and the braces are excellent. Bandit got her leg and freedom back with that splint. I am very grateful.
