This is a fantastic Japanese Steakhouse but the food doesn't seem to be worth the price of the menu items. I've definitely been to better Japanese steakhouses. It's not bad, I just had better. Everything we ordered was great! The service was also great! And the view was amazing if you were sitting in the back!
Great space, with fresh fish and good service. The prices are high but worth checking out! Their sushi pieces could be a little larger compared to other fancy sushi restaurants I have tried. Their roles are very good! The best part was the desert! Very delicious and tasty. I recommend checking out this place specially for special days.
I visited in the afternoon time and I like the bar side of the restaurant. It is cozy and quite compared to other side. Food is amazing and they could have done bit bitter on sushi dishes, but over all food is amazing. Best part is drinks. I just order one cook tail. It is so refreshing and I got buzz with only one drink. If I have to order other thing from this restaurant, it will be drinks
My husband and I went on a date here and it was great. We walked in and the place was really quiet. If you're just talking to each other side by side then there's no need to speak loudly because how the space is set up allows your voice to travel easily. There is no loud music in the background so you can talk nicely and not yell. You also cannot hear other people across the room unless they're purposefully being loud. Our server was nice too. Very upbeat and informational. The food came out a couple of dishes at a time which was a good pace for us. We always finished the dishes before the others came out. Which made the experience feel like a small plays experience and at always had enough room on the table because they would take the old dishes off first them bring out the new ones. The drinks were good too. The perfect amount of liquor with good flavorings. The drinks did not taste like any other drinks that I've tried. I think their menu is unique and you don't see the combinations anywhere else. Like you will not see a California roll or crunchy shrimp roll. This restaurant makes up their own rolls. The wagu meat is so good just melted in my mouth. I would say it's definitely worth the experience.
I truly enjoyed this very good Japanese restaurant. Excellent atmosphere, a really cool space, delicious plates thay were full of flavor as well as nice cocktails, wine, sake and beer choices. The staff was solid and professional. I will definitely come back.
The ambiance is nice, was fairly empty on a Tuesday night. Sushi unfortunately was very average. The nigiri was rice heavy with small portions this salmon nigiri was $15 The grill was much better and meats were buttery, although lacking in intense flavor Overall for an expensive restaurant with a 7% SF mandate fee, I expected more. You're better off saving the money for a proper omakase,
Received a gift card for Ozumo from work. I was extremely excited to try it! We started off with cocktails, I got the Omakase red and my friend got the giddy geisha yellow. Her drink was ok, a little bitter. The Omakase was absolutely delicious! Not sure what was in it though. We both ordered miso soup, which was fantastic. We also got the hanabi appetizer, which was also really good. For the entrees, I got the Ozumo roll honestly, it was ok and my friend got the bucho. For dessert, we got the choco-chan which was very delicious. We spent $200, which was a little more than expected. I do feel some of the prices of things on the menu are a little too high, as others have said. I wish my sushi roll was a little better but perhaps should’ve gotten a different one. Overall it was an excellent experience and the restaurant is pretty.
First time visiting this restaurant. We had a reserved bday dinner here. A few things to share: 1 We didn't know that they had two separate dining areas. We sat in the regular/fine dining area which didn't allow HAPPY HOURS items you have to sit in the sake lounge to get HAPPY HOURS items 2 Food is okay for most parts. We ordered tuna tartare, salmon tartare, Ozumo signature rollthese food items are on point. However, we ordered 8oz cheap American Wagyu Tokyo GYU and 4 oz expensive Japanese Wagyu HIDA. Both steaks were overcooked even though I double confirmed medium RARE for both steaks pointless. Of course I'm upset these two steaks cost $249 before tax and tip. Plus, they charge service fees if you bring your own CAKE 3 The dining environment is standard considering it's a $$$ restaurant. The staff are friendly and attentive. Although I prefer a bit more space In between tables. Lastly, disposable chopsticks, seriously?! In short, the whole dinner experience is not satisfying!
Fantastic Saturday night dinner. Hyatt Regency staff recommended this place and it surely did not disappoint! Defrantz was the best waiter we have had in a long time. Explained everything on the menu and made our choices very easy. All six selections we ordered were delicious and we even ordered the fondu desert! Highly recommend this establishment. We will be back when we visit San Fran again.
Solid sushi spot to dine with friends or a date night. Their crispy rice appetizer is addicting and their sushi and other dishes are very high quality. Great atmosphere and drinks as well.
