Worst roads in the country, bar none. Dangerous, broken, scary, and totally inhospitable to summer travelers or anyone else who does not live in the area and have an EZPass. Atrocious to think the place that holds so much of our important history has made their highways so unwelcoming to the citizens of this country. You can't even exit at the right places if you don't have an EZPass. There is no earthly reason for that other than GREED. Why would you do that to either your tourists OR your own residents who, surely, do not ALL wish to partake in the EZPass program. And for the exorbitant fees charged, you would expect a road that doesn't literally rattle the parts right out of your vehicle and expose you to most unsafe highways in the entire USA. I would recommend opening up some cash lanes, and not for double the already ridiculously high rate. Some fat cats at the top need to own fewer extra vacation homes and stop crowd-sourcing their wealth off the folks on the ground level.

As a non EZpass user, the PA turnpike is discriminating against me. I have chosen not to participate for a variety of reasons - credit card balances, lack of control, etc. - and because I am not enrolled in this program, I cannot use the newly built exits that are EZpass only. I travel between Bensalem and Norristown 2x a weekday. I pay almost $7.00 per day for the privilege of riding the turnpike. I pay more everyday than travelers enrolled in the EZpass program! The tolls I pay have contributed to the construction of these new exits, BUT NON EZPASS turnpike travelers cannot use them. These new exits should have been constructed with a change basket for those turnpike travelers who do not participate in the EZpass program. Can you say Class Action Suit??

Turnpike is getting better w all the new construction, hopefully they will not forget the northern stretch of the NE Extension.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike is generally free flowing except during rush hour or when there is an incident or construction. Tolls are high and keep rising every year, also cash lanes are hard to find at most interchanges.
