I have to admit it doesn't get much better than this. If you are in the area and you like light houses this is a must see. It took us 171 stairs I believe that was the count to get to the top. It was awesome. I youngest child unfortunately wasn't allowed to go to the top b/c I think you had to be 46" tall so keep that in mind. I could be wrong about the height just remember to check if you have little ones with you. Once up you can see the city, AFB and the Gulf.

This was an excellent place to visit while we made a day trip to Pensacola. Excellent history and interesting facts about the lighthouse. The staff member at the top of the lighthouse was extremely knowledgeable about how the lighthouse worked and its history. The view was spectacular at the top as well. Would like to visit again in the future.

This is a MUST if you are visiting Pensacola in the summer time. The water is beginning to clear up, the weather is nice and hot, and of course the views are amazing. They have a nice little gift shop at the entrance and a very well maintained keepers house. The lighthouse, while very old, is still maintained by the Coast Guard in a regular basis. Sometimes you'll even see them working in it while people are exploring the lighthouse. And if you're a fan of the Blue Angels, if might just see them on the runway at Sherman Field.

Love coming here, so much history! Plus if you're lucky get to see the Blue Angles take off and land. Worth every penny!!

It is a nice place to see. The staff was mixed. Some were very nice and some were on verge of being rude in name of safety and regulations. By the way, you better have proper shoes if you want to climb the tower. Backless shoe aren't allowed. Carry some water too.
