It's a national chain. This has it's advantages and disadvantages. On the plus side, selection is great, loyalty program is second to none, great prices on a variety of products. The negative is that SOME of the staff isn't as knowledgeable and they don't carry a large selection in high end of products. That said, if you need it, they probably have it and sometimes thats worth it. I've had bikes serviced here as well which have been done correctly and at a fair price. They are a chain though, which means you will get charged as opposed to your LBS which sometimes will help you out and not charge if it's something simple

Expert staff. This team has the goal of selling you a bicycle, they do make commission and will want to make a sale. With a big however, however. The team will not close until they are sure you have all the knowledge of the bikes they show you, feel of the bikes they let you test ride, and ensure that the theories of why you are wanting a bike, and what you are wanting it for, is in balance with why you are needing a bike, and what you are needing it for. Even if you know the team worked well with you, you devised a final selection, ut you are not ready to purchase, come back! They will take up where the sale left off with no hassle anywhere in the process.

Everett Smith is the best! I am new to the cycling world and have visited three local cycle shops before going to Performance Cycles. Everett is by far the most knowledgeable cycle person I have met. He completely answered all my questions and spent well over an hour to thoroughly explain the differences between a various brands and the features on each model. This gave me a much better understanding of what I need to buy. I also realized that based on my new understanding, a few of the other cycle shops were giving me wrong information and steering me towards a model that was a poor/wrong fit for my body type. Hands down Performance cycles is the best! I shopped there prices online and surprisingly, their price (for the model bicycle I decided on) was $200 cheap in their store then online. There inventory is huge but for the main fact that Everett works there, I would not go anywhere else. You can shop around, but do yourself a favor and stop in and talk to Everett. You will not be disappointed.

The mechanic was very honest and informative about having my wheels trued. He even tuned up my front wheel a bit wihout charge since it took him very little time.

They take their time and explain and teach us so we understand what their doing and take care of our own bikes.
