We were looking for somewhere decent to have Sunday brunch before heading back to Madison. Perkins seem to fit the bill. I’m not sure why, but Perkins always seems to be understaffed. We waited about 15-20 minutes to be seated, only to discover that the restaurant was half-empty (or half-full if you’re an optimist). Why they didn’t seat us right away is beyond me. I’ve had the same thing happen to me at other Perkins locations so it could be some misguided policy handed down from corporate. Who knows? I will say, after being seated it was smooth sailing. The food was pretty good and the service was not bad. Pro-tip: make sure to scour the “Great Plates” selections on the back of the menu. You can get a decent meal for as little as $4. Also, sign up for the email list m- they sound out coupons fairly regularly.

After reading recent reviews, I walked in tonight expecting the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. The place was very clean and updated. I only had to wait a few minutes to be seated, and Michelle took my drink order right away. I did not have to wait long at all for her to come back and take my order, or bring my food which was prepared in a timely manner. She came back several times to make sure everything was ok. When I was done eating, she asked if I was interested in ordering dessert, and I said yes. It was brought to me right away. It was an enjoyable meal, and a pleasant experience. I will return.

Slow. Wait staff acknowledged 'cute' children while my family waited to be seated for quite a while. And why vacuum when the restaurant is busy? The waitress could have been helping the customers. 👎👎
