They will not disclose information about the breeders who provide their animals, or the pedigree information. They sell designer mixed breed dogs from puppy mills for the same price you could expect to pay for a purebred from a reputable breeder. This goes for dogs and cats. Their Bengals are not even close to conforming with the breed standards, they look like ordinary tabby cats.

I don't even want to give this store ONE star!! Don't ever buy anything from this store....especially any animals. They have uneducated staff, they only want to make money, they do not care about the welfare of an animal, they lie and don't tell you what you NEED to know before purchasing. Then they suggest you don't care for the animal like they did so that's why it's doing poorly. Biggest regret of life is having walked into this store!! I wouldn't buy another thing from them if they were the last place on earth. So angry!
Those pictures of the Quails they have? Do not believe a word they tell you about quails. They make stuff up just to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't need, for birds they know nothing about. Quails do not make good pets for indoors. Buyers beware.

PET WORLD SELLS PREGNANT ANIMALS!!!
I bought a female hamster and one week later.. babies.
And now she is dead.
The store does not tell you if they're healthy or pregnant.
I do not recommend buying animals at this store unless you are looking for a pregnant female.
Next time you go to pet world they will ask you "What do you need?"
And you will say "The nearest route to PetSmart" OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH

This store needs to be shut down. The dogs they sell are all from puppy mills and from shady, backyard breeders (same goes for the rest of their animals). Their animals are extremely overpriced as the store only cares about profit. Many times when I see the dogs, they look sick and lethargic (many seem to have eye infections and are extremely thin). The store also does not provide accurate information of where they get their animals from and they refuse to give out certain details if pressured. Do not buy from this store for ANYTHING; do not support a chain that buys from puppy mills! Hopefully this store will shut down soon.

Read my review about Little Critters for my informed knowledge and information about the pet trade. I can tell you that I have met the owner and those that know the owner. Their opinions were not nice. My own was based on the cages the animals and the staff that I know and have known. The owner himself was not very people friendly. Not new I have been told. This is however his last store of a chain that once included St Laurent and Carlingwood. Myself I have had two animals not counting two goldfish. The fish died in a week. The rat my beloved George two years lost to a cyst/cancer was bought at Bayshore ONE MONTH before the Ottawa Rat Rescue rescue reported to the staff that the animals were COUGHING and it was found they had a contagious and fatal virus found in rats. Unsure of how these animals were disposed of. After visiting my vet for a health check after reading about the virus outbreak I became  aware of the rescue and called them. I met them in person after Georges passing and can't say enough good things about them. Please adopt. My heart isn't ready yet but they are well aware that rats are very very special sweethears. I also have a ferret I bought through PetWorld at their now closed Carlingwood location. No health issues to report. (Thank you to the former manager Lynn for her care and knowledge of ferrets and animal husbandry. The animals will miss the great care you gave them well beyond petstores  standards.) I know now of The Ottawa Ferret Rescue after I observed the ongoing conditions of the ferrets of St Laurent and Bayshore. After the uncaring St Laurent staff (urine smelling ferrets with food dishes out of reach wire bottom cage and they were shoved in an area UNDER things for sale. They THREW themselves at me to get out. I went back often and no changes. Out of fear for their health one was coughing I couldn't and wouldn't adopt them. Humane Society yep I went that far said they would look into it. They were gone next week I checked.....  Please adopt dont support these petstores. Do your research too on these dog like sweethearts. I was VERY lucky to have had a ferret knowledgeable manager who knew proper care who believed in one only and I was just lucky she was just there two weeks. Please note the staff do their best but it's the owner who runs the circus.
